8-night stay in this charming residence which boasts a lovely garden (great for picnics) with gorgeous panoramic sunset views of the lake - even a glimpse of Chillon Castle plus the Swiss National Day fireworks at night! The rooms are very spacious but basic. The beds are not ideal for those who are fussy or very tall. Rooms with lockable... More

We searched for a hotel for September 2014 for the Freddie Mercury Memorial Day as my boyfriend is a huge queen fan. The hotel prices in Montreux are really high. After searching for a while we found this beautiful accomodation. We got a room with a balcony. The view was unbelievable! We even watched fireworks in a city on the... More

We had a two night stay here and enjoyed it immensely. The castle and grounds are nicely kept, but you do need to be able to handle stairs!. The Schusterbauers are very accommodating, providing discount transport coupons and lots of information on the area. We had a lake view balcony room on the third floor with a fabulous view of... We stayed here a night during the jazz festival, it was the only affordable option. It's very quaint and the owners are nice. The room was nice and the bed was fantastic! Wonderful view! We walked up from the bus stop twice and about died. It's really steep so be ready for a workout if you want to leave. One... More

What a delightful experience! Be sure to arrange your itinerary to accommodate the two night minimum stay because the view, the hospitality, the comfort, the delicious breakfasts will make you want to extend your stay here! It's such a bargain when you compare it to the other hotels and the only thing better than the peaceful sleep you will enjoy,... More

After a desperate search for accommodation in Montreux - all resulting in ridiculously high accommodation costs, I chanced upon this quaint Castle based on the hillside of Lake Geneva in a delightful town called Territet. The views from my bedroom at Castel Chenes out to Lake Geneva and the surrounding mountains were absolutely stunning. The garden was delightful, and the... More

A pleasant overall experience, hotel in an excellent location with view. Not hard to find, up above the Best Western Bristol. The whole city is on the hillside and is pleasant and traditional. (We skipped the much-vaunted small castle.) The hotel is a classical castle-house design, heavy front door, pocket gardens with views, nice wood-paneled interiors, quiet. It is on... More

I decided against the mad bustle of downtown Montreux and opted for a different experience. I chose a charming bed and breakfast in the residential quarter of Montreux (Territet) at the foot of Mont Fleuri and above the bay of Territet. Originally built for a French countess in 1928, Castel les Chênes became the home of Hermann & Ulla Schusterbauer,... More
