My wife and I visited Switzerland for more than 1 weeks and stayed in 5 hotels throughout. This is by far the best hotel. The lake and mountain views from the balcony is breath taking. The cool breeze and sound of waves is like music to the ear. The breakfast is the best we had in Switzerland. The staffs were very friendly and the room is comfortable. Is a bit far from the train station but suggest to take the route by the lake side instead through the shophouses. The view will make you forget the distance. We regretted for not staying more then 2 nights in this hotel. Will certainly come back.

During or stay we found the hotel comfortable enough WE ARE ENGLISH . From the uk the meals are of decent quality but can clearly tell they cater for Italians and french ,, pea soup , salad with fermented cheese and salmon . No choice just get what your served ..... breakfast the same ... not a single bean or plum tomato insight . All olives , ham etc same again catering for french and Italian .... would rather stay in a hostel, beautiful scenery, beds comfortable and clean mini bar was so expensive would not recommend to English people from the uk ..... best thing casino montreux and freddie Mercury statue .... Chillon castle very good and value for money ... don’t waste your money sleep in the train station least there is a decent cafe outside .... don’t get me wrong if your posh it’s probably fine for you as rooms are very clean ... if your quite common you won’t like the food

We stayed here for one week on a half-board basis.( you know how expensive it can be eating out in Switzerland and the evening meal provided was excellent value). The room was very good, gardens and view of the lake beautiful, food very good and all staff so friendly and accommodating. We would certainly come back again.

While I will try to give the Golf Hotel some slack due to the fact that we were present during a historic heat wave, we were entirely miserable during our stay. There was no air conditioning (not necessary expected), but they also only had fans for half of their guests-- ie: not us. It was sweltering. Also, the staff at the front desk was quite unapologetic, as well as pompous. This was our 4th of 6 stops in Switzerland, and hands-down our least favorite. We would not be back to this hotel, nor this city. Despite experiencing the same lack of AC in Geneva, we were greeted by exceptionally kind staff who really made our stay enjoyable.

We stayed here as part of a Grand Train Tour of Switzerland package. The hotel location is superb with absolutely stunning views of the lake. It is a little way out of central Montreux but this is no bad thing as Montreux itself is very busy. In any event it is only a couple of stops on the bus from the main railway station. The hotel has shades of Edwardian grandeur but in some places looks a little tired. Indeed the rooms whilst very clean may need refurbishing soon. That said the beds were comfortable and we had the most wonderful view across the lake from our balcony. We found the staff a little off hand when we first arrived and our room was not ready but they did agree to store our luggage. Breakfast was good but we did find the signs on the dining table instructing us not to take out any food, a little offensive. Eating out in Switzerland is so expensive that people do tend to take some food out of breakfast for their lunch. I think hotels should just expect this and take this into account when pricing their room and breakfast packages. We didn't eat at the hotel but whilst the menu looked good it was quite expensive. Overall whilst we enjoyed our stay here the hotel could improve it by polishing up on the little finishing touches.
