MONA - Montreux hotel garners accolades for its exceptional service, where the staff's helpfulness and the thoughtful complimentary amenities shine, despite a few hiccups during check-in. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel offers direct lake access and is a stone's throw from key attractions, earning it high praise from visitors. While opinions on value vary, guests are consistently impressed by the hotel's cleanliness and the cozy, well-appointed rooms that boast breathtaking lake views, though some suggest a few updates could enhance the experience.

I want to be totally honest...the location and the views are unreal, you are right on the lake and surrounded by beauty, however we were a little let down by the room. It had all of the amenities and was a nice size, but it could have done with updating. The fabric on the chair was worn and frayed and there was some heavy staining/marks on the wooden furniture. If the room was updated as in new decor and furniture it could be absolutely stunning. Having said that, I would stay again as the location and other things far outweigh the room needing a little makeover! It was clean and the staff are lovely, particularly at Reception.
As a guest you are able to hire a paddle board free of charge! We had a great time out on the lake and were very grateful to the hotel to have given us this experience.

Breakfast was nice with everything you would expect of a continental breakfast. The only downside to breakfast was the birds! Leaving your plate outside to pop in and refill your coffee is a NO NO! Your plate would be covered with birds within seconds. They are tiny little things and completely harmless but annoying nevertheless. But to welcome the morning with stunning views of the lake...its worth a few birds in my opinion :-)

Great hotel, great stay, beautiful part of the world!

The hotel is well located right at fhe shore of lake Geneva more or less downtown. The property is a bit old, especially the bathrooms (..at least ours..) need some brush up I guess. A solid shower cabin would serve much better than a small bathtub. The rooms are ok, the ones away from the lake might be a bit noisy especially during high traffic time. There is an outside dinner area along the lake promenade which we liked very much. Breakfast was quite good on a terasse overlooking the lake again. Garage for the horses (we came by motorbike) is right underneath. Staff is multilingual and very motivated.
Basically a good recommendation for a weekend trip..

We loved the location of this hotel which overlooked the lake as well as the surrounding area. We were very close to the Freddie Mercury statue! We had a little balcony which was wonderful; we also used it to dry clothes we washed in the sink! The room was modern with A/C which was important with the very warm weather. The hotel, like many in Swiss towns, provides a visitor card which gives you free transportation in the area. We used it to go to Vevey which we loved! I knew Montreux was in the French area of Switzerland; it felt like we were in France. We could have added breakfast for another CHF 20 per person but opted not too. We did have breakfast there on our last morning and have to say it wasn't worth the additional cost of CHF 24. At this hotel and others we stayed in that did not include breakfast, we usually got bananas and croissants from local markets for our room which was just fine. Front desk staff were personable and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was dirty, there was water on the sink and a used towel, the area where the cups and coffee are was filled with dust and the balcony was not only dirty but the chairs they’ve placed are so low, it is impossible to sit and look at the view. To top it all in the halls there was a cart with leftovers from what i presume was other guest’s breakfast and it stayed there for hours. We asked to have a different room and the manager came out unconcerned and proposed to have it cleaned while we were out, we agreed but when we came back they had done nothing. I ordered an iron and when it was handed to me, it was pouring water.
The restaurant’s staff was better (they were nice and attentionate) but their glasses were filled with calcaire.
The only helpful person was Camilla, she was very informative, but she couldn’t help us with a simple administrative task (changing the name on the bill).
For the price and their pseudo 4 stars it was incredibly dissapointing.

I paid 200 Euro for a 1 night stay in this Hotel with my wife, upon arrival i was informed that they didn't have any parking spaces for my car, there was no space for me or my wife in the restaurant for dinner, the Hotel also refused us room service or a take away service from the restaurant. The bar was closed so we couldn't even get a drink (all other Hotel in Montreux have open bars) I requested a King bed we got 2 doubles and the Hotel staff didn't seem to care. I paid 200 Euro for a Motel....I understand the corona virus has meant changes to the way Hotels manage their business, all the other Hotels seem to be doing a good job. If Eurotel doesn't have the facilities to be able to look after their guests they shouldn't be open. There are 3 reasons you stay in a Hotel, food, Drinks and service this Hotel doesn't have any of these.

Stayed in the Deluxe Room with balcony offering an excellent view of Lake Geneva. You should spend sometime in the evenings in the balcony gazing into the lake. Room was spacious and well equipped. You can have breakfast in the outside area if its not too windy. The only glitch I faced was that in spite of coming at 4 PM, my room was not ready and I was asked to wait for 30 minutes even though the check-in time was 3 PM. Eurotel hosts large groups of tourists, so you may face delays at check-in and check-out which may have queues. They offer free infused waters and pop corn at the reception for the guests. The breakfast spread was good but as usual not a lot of options for vegetarians/vegans which seems typical to Continental Europe.

Despite we paid for the most expensive room the hotel ignored our parking request in the booking and had to walk 1km to the next parking place every time (my guess they overbooked the places and provided them on first comes basis). First they provided a room penetrated with smell of smoke, which after they changed, however never the provided the welcome pack in the new room despite we kindly asked for it. The breakfast was poor for the price demanded, no selection at all. During check out after specifically asked to pay with travel check card instead of credit card they went ahead a debited the credit card used for the booking and it took them 20 minutes to reverse the transaction and another couple of day to refund the double charge. I certainly will not be a repeat customer.

Yes, as previous posters have mentioned this hotel sits right on lake Geneva, has amazing views of the mountains and the lake, awesome breakfasts, spacious rooms, fitness center, sauna, steam room, great location, fun snacks in the lobby, like popcorn machine, tasty cold drinks, coffee & tea, etc.
But what really sets this place apart is the amazing can-do attitude of the front desk staff. This was our 2nd stay here during the Montreux Jazz Festival and we had inadvertently booked a room that upon inspection we felt was too small for our one week stay. We knew the place was booked up so we didn't have much hope of being able to upgrade, but Vipusan and Romain (receptionists) said they would see what could be done. Romain must be a magician because after 20 minutes he was able to get us a perfect room. We are so grateful to both of these people who could just as easily have said "sorry we're full", but instead went out of their way to find a solution to our dilemma!
We loved our stay here and will never stay anywhere else when we're in Montreux!

APRIL 2024
It is The Mona Hotel now ... we got into town looking for Eurotel and we're surprised to find new ownership and name. But once we figured it out, all is fine.

We love it here, but a couple of things to be aware of:
1) There are no ramps nor elevators up from the street nor from the garage to the lobby. We, luckily, had manageable luggage and our husbands were stong, but we saw many struggling to get their bags up to the lobby (about 10 stairs from front door and about 15 + from garage) and no bell captains.
2) The parking garage is reasonably priced at 25 Francs a day, but the spaces are very narrow with the same narrow entrance and exit with very little space to turn around.... the garage is very tight. It may make you frustrated.
3. Our friends found that their second floor lake view room looked over construction being done on the lobby roof below, right now (April 2024) so either ask for another room higher or ask for a discount if the work hasn't been finished. My friends asked to be moved higher and there was no problem.

There is a washer and dryer in the hotel which is an excellent feature... bring a couple of dryer sheets.

The lobby bar is small and staffed by a delightful young man who makes a perfect martini.

The reception staff are very nice nd helpful professionals.

The rooms are spacious and very clean.

There are three elevators so there is never a long wait.

The hotel has a fabulous view of the lake and adjacent grounds/gardens. The lakeshore promenade runs right by the hotel which is situated minutes from grocery, bakery, restaurants, shopping and the cassino. Excellent location!

We are very very pleased with The Mona Hotel.

We spent one night in a lake view room. It was clean and comfortable but the lake view was only really half a lake view because the building is shaped like a triangle with the corner at the lake front. We did not have time (or weather) to use the other amenities here. Parking is available to pay for on the street outside. We didn't have a problem getting parked within 100m of the hotel lobby. The Montreux Vivey tourist card came with the room, which gave us discounted local travel and tourist attractions for our stay.
