This hostel is really nice with a lot of facilities. Staff is always happy to help you. It is price wise for Switzerland. To reach the hostel from the city centre, you need to use public transport but after you learn how to use it is really easy. As it is explained in the booking, Wifi it is only in...

Compared to most city hostels, this one is definitely much nicer. Nice garden, nice common area etc... As usual in Switzerland, however, it was extremely expensive. About 70 CHF for a single room without the bathroom! The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Much better than you'd ever expect from a hostel, even in Switzerland. A very nice...

The staff in this hostel are incredibly helpful. The facilities are great (more like a hotel than a hostel !) The breakfasts are awesome and the place is well located and easily accessible by bus from the city centre. I had a great stay here and I would recommend 100 %

I enjoyed my stay at this Hostel. I had a single room, very clean, but note that there is no hairdryer. The rooms are all around gardens, where you can relax and play ping pong, volley, chess etc. The position is perfect to reach the lake, quite fra from the city center, however they give you a card for the...

The location was both good and bad: it's extremely close to the lake and some Roman ruins and an athletic park, which I greatly enjoyed, but just far enough from the old town to be slightly frustrating. You do get a transport card though! There are also pluses and drawbacks to the hostel itself. The rooms and the courtyards are...

The rooms were clean, food was ok and the place itself was nice enough. What you would expect from a youth hostel really. The one big issue was the lack of ventilation, I struggled to sleep at night due to how warm it was! Close to the lake though, which was a massive bonus.

This is really good value for money (for Switzerland). The single room with a shared bathroom is half the price of a similar room with crappy shower in posh Ouchy 20 minutes lakeside walk away. It is very clean, I didn't mind the unisex bathrooms at all since there was nobody there anyway and they were clean. The room itself...

It was great for me coming for a 3 day conference at the Swiss Tech Convention Centre, easy access via public transport from the YH. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were pretty decent, well furnished, warm, light, and only 4 beds per room, which is a good compromise between dormitory and single room. Bathrooms were close by,...

It is a Little expensive, but the rooms are big and the bath is clean. There is a public transport very near and the lake is in walking-distance. The breakfast is also good. There is free WiFi and you can enter at any time. During the night it is calm.

I can not fault Lausanne Youth hostel, as i do not use WiFi, or any other computer aid. The staff were very helpful, the public area was very clean, and the food was good... yes! it was a bit expensive but most eateries are in Switzerland... The Double rooms had some room to swing a small rucksack in and were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The city of Lausanne stands on a hill and has steep, narrow streets, so strong muscles are required, particularly for the uphill climb to the cathedral, the most important Gothic monument in Switzerland. Window-shop in the bric-a-brac and antique shops or take a breather in one of the numerous bistros and bars, or along the lovely promenade of the former fishing village of Ouchy, in the Musee de la Photographie, which is worth a visit, or at the Swiss Cinematheque (with its picture archive of famous Europeans) or Olympic Museum (the only one in the world). ... more   less
