I book 2 rooms in this hotel for 5 nights. One executive room for 3 people and a smaller one for 2 people. I was there with my family. At arrival the lady at the counter gave me the great news that my other room fro 2 people was upgraded for free so we could have the rooms next to each other. Very nice indeed.
When I asked where I could park I was told that I was welcome to park at the hotel but a few meters away was a parking which was a lot cheaper. Again ver nice,
The hotel overall is very clean, stuff is friendly, the pool is nice and clean and is a few meters away from the lake. The rooms have everything you need and are very spacious and quiet. I would definitely return to this hotel with my family.

I recently spent a night there between two journeys and wish I could have stayed longer. I loved the fact that rooms are spread around several buildings, feels very "homey". My room was very clean, modern and functional and gorgeous, I particularly loved the stone wall. Staff was very helpful both at check-in and throughout the stay, always available.
Lastly, location was amazing, right on the shores of the lake with beautiful view and a minute away from the subway station.
I definitely recommend staying here !

This hotel is an absolute gem. Nominally four star, the physical infrastructure, service, and ambiance are five star. In fact, the hotel's sister properly, the next door Beau Rivage, is one of the world's top five star hotels, and you have signing privileges there and at the other sister property, the Chateau Couchy. You can therefore book a spa treatment at the Beau Rivage, which is highly recommended. There is a two star Michelin restaurant there as well. The Angleterre's own restaurant, L'Accademia, is the best Italian restaurant in Lausanne and is highly recommended. The hotel's location is perfect -- right in the fashionable Ouchy district by the lakeside and less than a five minute walk to the nearby metro station, which connects you to other parts of Lausanne, as well as the train station. If you are looking for leisure and relaxation in Lausanne in an elegant and upscale environment, you can do no better than the wonderful Angleterre. After all, if Lord Byron stayed here, why shouldn't you?

A simple review, this is not a 4 star hotel as advertised, it is a 3 star at a push.

On arrival the person at reception was lovely, very friendly and showed us different parts of the city on a map. They offered to help with our bags but didn’t ask to show us how the room worked (this is what I’d expect in a 4 star).

I had paid for a lake view and this is where the disappointment began. What I got was a partial view at best. Our room was on the first floor which overlooks the terrace restaurant and 70% of what you can see out the window are the umbrellas from the terrace - this is totally unacceptable- I mentioned this upon checking out (as this was a working holiday and we didn’t have time to change rooms) and she seemed totally disinterested.

The room was fine, but dated, bedding was incredibly poor quality with the pillows providing absolutely no support (even when I added the spare one in the wardrobe it made no difference). As is common in France a double bed has two duvets but these didn’t have a closure on the end so the duvet ended up coming out of its cover every single night.

The overhead shower tap was super tightly screwed in so we had to get someone to come down to turn it on. The bathroom products are cheap and are bolted to the bath - which gives a feel of being in a hostel.

Overall for the price I’d avoid this place its expensive for not much return.

A lovely hotel with a classic feel. Our room was very nicely appointed with a terrific view of Lake Geneva. Service was very good. Air conditioning worked well, especially helpful in the midst of a heat wave. Shopping and dining all around and a very convenient quick walk to the Metro - which is paid for by the City Tax, and which gets you into the main train station and other parts of town in short order. There is a nice pool, lounge area and a fitness center. The downside is that, depending on the building to which you're assigned, there could be many steps to negotiate, which could be a problem for the more physically challenged among us. Fortunately, our luggage was delivered to our rooms. In addition, there's no bar/snack bar on site, so if you'd like a drink or a snack you'll have to leave the premises, though there is a convenience store nearby. We didn't try the breakfast, which was offered for 30 or 35 Swiss Francs per person. We found a much more reasonably priced and adequate breakfast menu a couple of doors down. Overall, there is much to recommend this very charming and lovely hotel in this beautiful lakeside setting.

The room was beautiful, with gorgeous high ceilings and large windows. Somfy blinds and excellent sound-proofing kept the room dark and quiet enough for sleeping late. Incredibly comfortable bed. Large, bright bathroom. Nice workspace with plenty of charging options.

Excellent hotel, in a great location with great facilities, great service, and extremely kind and professional personnel. Only one minor flow: breakfast price is 39 CHF four rooms which do not include breakfast. I might suggest to better specify that in the website. As a matter of fact for a room which includes breakfast the price of breakfast becomes 30 CHF, which is more reasonable. However, apart from this very minor issue, everything - including breakfast - is premium quality.

From get this place sucked, the customer service was a -5. We show up hot and exhausted with all our bags, with amazing happy attitudes because we were in Luasanne. The front desk gentleman was overwhelmed with the 3 people in line so he rushed us and pointed to the building we were in. Keep in mind this building is up numerous stairs, 87F, over cobblestone and gravel and steep climb. He did not offer us any assistance with the luggage we had nor did he tell us how the “lift” worked in the other building. He also said you get a metro pass and for us to come back later to get them. I said “why would we have to come back, can you not print them now”, he ignored the question and said again “come back later”.

After hiking to our room we find out that the pictures on their site are extremely misleading. The place has several buildings with varying views. We booked a “Junior Suite with Lake View” and received an obstructed view that looked into another building of the hotel. We complained and were told we had a “Superior Room with Lake View”. The woman at the desk said since we booked through a 3rd party she could do nothing even though I showed her proof of receipt that displayed us paying $1260 US dollars for 2 nights.

The room itself.. so small, and not cleaned to my standards for this price point. The shower is a joke because there is no way to keep the water from hitting the floor. We didn’t watch tv but to say it’s a flatscreen is comical, it is a 20 inch monitor. The TV stand is so cheap and chintzy. The front desk said mini bar is included, what a joke, it was an Evian water, OJ, coke and Heineken.

This was a beautiful property with fabulous rooms and view of the lake. Unless you are absolutely sure breakfast is included, no need to pay extra - you will get a perfectly good breakfast at the local shops and it will be much more reasonably priced. Also, if you have difficulty with steps, be sure to ask for a room in an accessible building. With our old knees and hips, getting to our building was a challenge - but the view and the room were worth the schlep.

Hotel facilities are what you have expect in advance The service and attitude of staff at the reception is very poor. At the reception you directly regrets that you have made a reservation. Breakfast is good but again there is no interest in you as a guest. The best experience was the Accademia Restaurant with a total different client experience, pleasant & professional service with great food.

Dear howling_b, you can take the train from Geneva airport to Lausanne trainstation. In Lausanne you take the metro M2 direction "Ouchy". When you get off at Ouchy take a turn left, follow the street until you see the hotel on your left-hand side.
