Breathtaking view, very clean room and facilities, but most importantly wonderful hosts and staff. You really feel at home and are very well taken care of just as a family member. My wife hurt her leg a bit skiing and the attention and care we received at the hotel definitely helped her speedy recovery. Definitely staying there again.

A brilliant hotel in one of the best ski resorts in the world. Stylish, extremely clean and friendly. The hotel also do special nights, like raclette (a local roasted cheese dish served with potatoes). Good value and perfect if you don't want to go down to the village. Taxi fares can quickly add up so walk down and taxi home.

We stayed in the appropriately named Matterhorn room which had a large balcony with an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn - in fact you could even lie in bed and see the Matterhorn. The quality of the hotel is excellent, very clean, modern, lovely cosy breakfast area. Nice extra touches such as free tea / coffee, biscuits and cake available... More

Willy and Rosemary the friendliest hosts in Switzerland. We have visited them 5 times now and I can't believe I've never written a review. I've skied all over the world and this is by far the most "at home" I have ever felt.

i stayed at AlpenLodge for 5 nights in mid-December to visit the Matterhorn and ski! I had a wonderful experience - the owner and staff were really pleasant and a joy to work with, the facilities are in spectacular condition (built / renovated in 2005), the charm of the hotel lobby and spa are well above 3-star class, and the... We visited in mid-August, so Zermatt wasn't very busy, but you can tell that it's probably crazy in winter. The Alpenlodge is a very nice hotel situated among many other hotels and homes in the crowded streets of the town. It's a bit of a hike from the train station, but there are a bunch of electric shuttles waiting by... More

This lodge has it all. An excellent view of the Matterhorn, great rooms, a complimentary day spa, excellent breakfasts and the most lovely and helpful host who provided some excellent advice which allowed us to choose the best walking paths and sights for our limited time frame. We actually ended up staying an extra night we were so impressed. One... More

A weeks skiing was in order. The hotel is small but very clean, comfortable and friendly with a good atmosphere. A 10 minute walk up hill from the town centre but nothing strenuous. The view over Zermatt and on to the Matterhorn is fabulous. The room was warm clean and cozy and the beds comfortable for a good nights sleep.... More
