Welcome to the family-run 4-star hotel Pollux in Zermatt. Enjoy your skiing or hiking holidays with us. Even think about the possibility to organize a meeting here with us in the mountains. The hotel Pollux is located in the heart of Zermatt - 200 meters from the train station. All valley stations of the mountain railways are within walking distance. Our hotel has two restaurants. The Pinte is a typically wooden Valais restaurant in which we serve among other things cheese fondue specialties and raclette. The Arvenstube is an elegant restaurant with alpine chic in which we serve international and Mediterranean delicacies. The hotel bar with an open fireplace is a popular meeting point for locals and guests. The hotel offers also a recreational area with Finnish sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, Spa shower and solarium. The design of our 35 rooms is a mix of modern and rustic alpine elements. We can meet individual wishes due to various room types e.g. family rooms with connecting doors.

Friendly staff, excellent location for us as train travellers with large suitcases. Free pickup from the train station was a nice touch. (There's a phone at the station, you select your hotel & they come and get you.) Our independant swiss rail holiday package was how we came to be booked in to the Pollux. Pleasantly surprised at check-in to find out we had a family room (our package booking was actually only for twin share) - having our own bedroom and a bathroom each was just perfect. The included buffet breakfast was really good too - everything was there for the choosing. The family room was clean, roomy, beds super comfortable, enjoyed having a verandah overlooking the main street - good morning sun - views of Zermatt and the surrounding mountains. With verandah doors closed very peaceful - and its Zermatt...all the vehicles are electric. Location is very handy - in the middle of Zermatt, close to the train station, the cog train, shops and restaurants, the old town streets, and also a comfortable distance to walk to the villages green space with excellent views up to the Matterhorn. Would stay there again - no question.

May i say how incredibly knowledgable and understanding the staff were in the restaurant with regards to our daughters needs. My youngest is allergic to egg, and shell fish, and as you can imagine we struggle to find places that have the patience or understanding towards allergies, especially in a time of very busy service. The staff made sure all utensils were separate and clean, that her meal was prepared away from all other allergens and prepared from scratch in new fresh boiling water, she had rice, and veg. And the sausage cooked in a separate clean pan too. This service they offered to us, we didn't have to ask. Wow. Thank you. It seemed nothing was to much trouble. The meals that family ate that night were very good indeed, really tasty. The building is stunning and the restaurant was very comfotable too with plenty of space between diners I definitely recommend It, however, we did need to pre book a table, but that in its self is usually a good sign, right?

Had a memorable ski trip to Zermatt and stayed at Hotel Pollux with my family. Clean room, good size, hotel well situated on Main Street and close to Gornergrat train and bus stop to other Mountain starting points. Great breakfast, cosy Bar, excellent service at front desk and at breakfast. Special shoutout to the Owner who helped us on our last day when the Train our of Zermatt was not running. Highly recommend Hotel Pollux and would stay there again.

Not the cheapest hotel (a bit upscale) but centrally located on main street, and close to everything (restaurants, ski rentals, gift shoppes, and the buses to the lifts). Breakfasts included in rates. A very nice lobby with a cozy bar/fireplace for late night drinks. They also have a couple restaurants in the place. In the basement you'll find the ski room (with handy boot dryers), and a spa (which is not perfect but nice to have). The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. We had beds for 4ppl, and 2 bathrooms. Plenty large for us. If you have a choice, opt for a room on the Matterhorn side (not the street side) as you'll hear all the street activity when you're trying to sleep otherwise. Also, the rooms can get warm, with not an easy mechanism to cool the room down, but the windows can be opened, but the street noise may be too much. Room keys are fastened to a brass plumb bob, so you don't take it with you. They use the honor system and you just leave it hung to the rack at reception when you depart for the day. Daily, on the 1st floor, they offer tea and cakes in the meeting room from like 1pm-4pm. Nice touch. The room also has TVs, couches, and an old Xbox. Breakfasts are excellent, also on the 1st floor. Large buffet-style selections, but you can also order from the kitchen, all at no additional charge. Hotel Pollux is a 4-6 minute walk from the train station, which is typically the only way into Zermatt - easy to roll your luggage from there to the hotel - don't bother with a shuttle or taxi. Very nice hotel, and very friendly front desk staff, kitchen staff, etc. I would stay here again!
