Of the hotels I've stayed at in Zermatt, the Monte Rosa certainly stands out as one of a kind. Not only is this grand old dame somewhat of an institution by virtue of being the oldest hotel in the Zermatt valley – the Monte Rosa is possibly the very reason why the village is on the map at all. The...

Monte Rosa is the most lovely hotel with the lovely service ; efficient, kind and very charming; in every department from the reception to the bar to the dining to the cleaning ladies. This was our third stay in Monte Rosa (out of 21 in Zermatt) and we so much agree it is just the best hotel - and good...

I stayed at the Monte Rosa three years ago and thought it the best hotel I had ever stayed in. Having just spent five nights there, I still think it the best even though they have since stopped providing dinner. As an alternative, they offer a half board rate that enables guests to eat dinner at 14 other Seiler hotels...

The hotel is rather old. I was told it was one of the first - if not the very first - in Zermatt. As such, it owes the clients more "modern" accommodation. Rooms are rather dark and there are (perhaps) too few electric sockets. Nonetheless, service is impecable and the attention you get from staff makes you feel truly at...

Not sure there is enough space to add all of necessary superlatives to describe this place. Amazing views of the church and the Matterhorn combined with one of the absolutely friendliest hotel staffs anywhere and an old school charming dining room for breakfast (we did not have dinner). The decor was unbeatable and the history of the hotel makes you...

The room was really comfortable. The service was increibly good. The housekeeper leaves a bag with hot stones on the bed at night for further relaxation. The only thing to point out is that the hotel do not have transfers to the lifts which are really far away. Taxi to lifts cost 12 euros one way which makes your stay...

This is the 5th year running we've been here and there's nothing to fault. Top class service, lovely bar and well appointed rooms. Usually one of the tests of a good hotel is the continuity of the hotel staff and it's lovely to see the same helpful faces, year after year.

The Monte Rosa is a charming hotel, boasting both charm and elegance. The service was fantastic and the attention to detail excellent. I struggle to say a bad thing about my stay there. The only minute detail that could be improved is the barman's negroni. I will most definitely visit again - recommend highly to all!

An excellent example of what perfect hospitality should be: high standards, infrastructure, professionalism, courtesy. Understated elegance in the best location. Ideal for the discerning traveler who is after the right priorities. Top marks in every aspect.
