The exterior is only a prelude of what we expected our room to be. The brass room key , the heavy raised panel door and the beautiful wallpaper are the first things to strike our eyes as we enter our room. Then the heavy dark stained furniture , the carpet and the drapes the windows and then , " BOOM... More

Family vacation. We had two rooms. Wonderful treatment upon arrival. Escorted to a room with a great view of the Matterhorn. Great recommendations for dinner. Wonderful treatment by staff. Very caring. Highly recommend this hotel when in Zermatt.

We have just returned from our latest visit to the Monte Rosa and once again were very sorry to leave. You receive a wonderful welcome when you arrive and this enthusiasm to make your visit special continues throughout your stay. The whole team is very friendly and helpful, the hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are fabulous and there is a... More

My wife and I recently returned from an extensive trip through Switzerland for our 45th anniversary, and our stay at the Hotel Monte Rosa was the most fantastic and memorable part of our journey. I can't say enough good things about this outstanding place. Let me start by first praising the location. We received a room upgrade from the generous... More

This 5-Star hotel was fabulous and located at the bottom of the Matterhorn mountain. Very Swiss and very old-fashioned maintaining it's elegance. We had a room with two balconies with stupendous views of the Alps. The service was top-shelf and their breakfasts exquisite. We felt like Kings and Queens and totally spoiled. Great shopping and terrific restaurants. Beautiful scenery and... More

Arriving to Zermatt for the first time we were collected from the railway station in an electric hotel vehicle. The hotel has lots of history but is very much 4 star, beds are very comfortable with duvet and pillows as fluffy as marshmallows, big bathroom with shower over bath and large soft whiter than white bath sheets. Staff are friendly... More

The breakfast was comprised of industrial quality products and was well below the standard of the breakfast offered last year. The rooms were very noisy due to the addition of the hotel's new restaurant located in the garden directly below the rooms. Music and laughter could be heard until midnight. The rooms smelled of food. The view of the kitchen... More

We visited in July and the hotel was great. It was directly across from the square with a wonderful bar and entertainment. We had a suite and there was lots of room. We could see the Matterhorn from our balcony! The woman at the desk was very helpful in getting us a reservation at a wonderful restaurant. We would highly... More

I've stayed in several hotels in Zermatt and this one is wonderful. They toss around four stars here like they rate themselves, but this truly is a four star plus hotel. It's location is perfect, across from the Hotel Zermatterhof. I prefer this central location. You are where the "action" is and steps from the cable cars as well. This... More
