We recently stayed at Europe Hotel & Spa Zermatt, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish!

The room was spotlessly clean, and the attention to detail made us feel right at home. The hotel is very kid-friendly, which was a huge plus for our family. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our children were happy—they were super friendly, incredibly helpful, and always ready to do whatever they could to make our kids smile.

The ski room was user-friendly and well-organized, making it easy to gear up and head out for the day. We also enjoyed the wellness facilities, which were cozy and provided just the right amount of relaxation after skiing.

The food was amazing, with every meal being a treat for the senses. It was clear the chefs take great pride in their work!

The hotel's location is unbeatable—just a short walk to Bahnhofstrasse, perfect for shopping and dining, and very close to the Sunnegga Express, which made accessing the slopes effortless.

Overall, this hotel has everything you need for a perfect stay in Zermatt, whether traveling with family or on your own. We can’t wait to come back—thank you to the incredible staff for making our trip so memorable!

The moment we first stepped out to the balcony, we knew why it was over $400 per night for such a small room. Matterhorn was standing there boasting its glorious existence.

The room was clean and well equipped. The interior was modern and gives a sense of warmth. The property was beautifully design and very inviting.

The restaurant had similar ambiance, cozy and welcoming. The breakfast was great. It offered an array of fresh fruit and delicious pastries. Guests can make fresh juice and boil eggs.

A selection on the cheese plate was great and omelet-like egg dish was delicious.
Their latte was probably one of the best lattes I have ever drunk - yes, I had it in many countries including Italy and France.

It is more tucked in than the ones located close to the strip where many stores and restaurants are, but because of its location, the view of Matterhorn can be appreciated on the balcony. You can also let the hotel know when you arrive at the train station, so they can pick up in a tiny vehicle. Then you do not have to struggle with your luggage. It is a very short ride.

My husband and I decide to come back to this hotel if/when we revisit Zermatt.

My wife and I are fortunate enough to have stayed in some of the finest resorts around the world. The Europe Hotel & Spa in Zermatt ranks right up there with some of the best. We chose their fifth floor panorama suite... the sole room on the top floor. From the breathtaking view of the Matterhorn, to the gorgeous appointments in the room, to the multiple towel warmers, opening skylights, and so much more, the room was nothing short of spectacular. Staff couldn't do enough to see to our every need. The spa was decadently appointed and such a nice touch. And since we chose half board, we got to experience the excellence which is their Orvis restaurant. And with the resort's great location, it's close to everything, but isolated from the noise of the main drag in the village. The owners are always around, explaining much of why there's such a degree of perfection here. Pick this great resort with total confidence for your next Zermatt stay.

Our stay at Hotel Europe over the turn of 2024/25 was a unique experience. We have been to the Hotel Europe before and were very happy to get a room on short notice in high season. This family-run hotel is centrally located in Zermatt, with short walks to the city centre, the Sunegga lift and the bus stop to e.g. Green Line (Matterhorn Glacier Paradise). The hotel is beautifully decorated. The dining room was renovated and equipped after our last stay again fundamentally new and very high quality. Through the large glass windows you have a beautiful view of the Matterhorn. The staff is very friendly and extremely attentive from the reception to the service staff in the restaurant, the spa area, the drivers of the shuttle and the cleaners. The spa treatments are highly recommended. The complete package is rounded off by a very rich breakfast buffet and world-class dinner! Our stay can be summarized briefly: Top class!
Many thanks to the entire team for the once again unforgettable stay!

We had a great 2 night stay at Hotel Europe in Zermatt in September. The hotel is extremely comfortable, cozy and exudes a family atmosphere in which we immediately felt comfortable. We would particularly like to highlight the extremely friendly and attentive staff who have read every wish from our lips.

Our room offered a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn – simply unforgettable! We were also spoiled culinary: Breakfast and dinner were very good and left nothing to be desired.

This hotel is absolutely perfect. We stayed for a week and we had a lovely room with a balcony with Matterhorn view. The hotel is modern and spotlessly clean, our room was serviced every day while we were at breakfast and we were left complimentary fresh apples and chocolates, toiletries and lovely sheep’s milk soap in the shape of a sheep. We took half board , and if you don’t do the same you will really be missing out. The breakfast buffet has a wonderful spread , from fresh fruit , yoghurt and Bircher muesli, cereals , juice , cheese and meats , pastries , breads and hot food as well. It is constantly being checked and refreshed. Dinner is a 5 course gastronomic feast , served by staff who are both friendly and knowledgeable. All the restaurant staff were attentive , Christian, Natalie and Leah all spoke perfect English and were happy to chat whilst maintaining efficient service , but all of the staff were great , I just don’t know all their names, a great team . The chef was clearly a master of his trade , the food was delicious, and the menu was published every morning, so if something was not to your taste , tell them in advance and they would change it for you . The hotel spa was lovely after a days hiking , relaxing in the large jacuzzi was great for aching muscles. This hotel is priced for Zermatt, and no hotel is cheap , but the money is well worth it for the experience here , from the moment they collect you from the station , until they drop you back , it is lovely, I have no doubt we will return here next time we are in Zermatt.

The room was simply wonderful, very spacious and perfectly furnished. The bathroom was bright and had a shower and a bathtub, everything was perfectly clean. The sheep hand soap was sweet and smelled very good. I took it home as a little souvenir.

What a great stay! The hotel 100% delivers on its promises:

The excellent reviews prompted us to book. We were not disappointed - on the contrary.

The friendliness of the family and all the staff, the great rooms (we recommend choosing a room with a view of the Matterhorn) and the cuisine, everything is of a very high standard.

It is once again very clear that family-run hotels simply know their business. The whole house shows this love of detail, high quality and great taste in the furnishings.

We were also given gifts and surprises on the occasion of the big birthday that we were able to celebrate during our stay.

We can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely book here again on our next visit to Zermatt!

I took a train from Tasch to Zermatt which takes about 10 minutes, as you know Zermatt is a car free zone. Only electric vehicles in Zermatt, you can take a train from Zurich to Zermatt I think it's about 3 1/2 hrs.

Very easy to go directly from the airport which has a train station within the building, just as you exit customs, just cross the pick up road. Sbb website is useful for tickets and timetable. Excellent train service. Goes directly in to Zermatt and the hotel will pick you up for free with your luggage. 5 mins to the hotel in their buggy.
