We stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 nights and were beyond thrilled with everything! The staff were very helpful, kind, and the service at the restaurant just outstanding. The rooms are beautiful, clean, with very comfortable beds. They have everything you need for kids as well, which made our stay most enjoyable and relaxing. We also enjoyed the lovely spa area which was nicely designed and offered something for everyone. We would certainly stay here again and give this place a 10/10! We got to meet Rudy, the amazing proprietor who even brought our bags back to the train station for us in person.
I didn’t make it to the hotel. Our travel plan has changed. Planning for Nov 2022 trip to Zermatt. However, just want to comment that I make reservations directly with the hotel and all the front desk reservation members and manager are very polite and easy to work with via emails. They responded very promptly, given with the US-Swiss, time difference. Also I feel welcomed and the confirmation letter is well composed. Best of all they are very accommodating with my room change requests and the price to book directly is very reasonable, even better than booking via hotel reservation websites. I look forward to the future to re-book directly from the hotel. Thank you Europe Hotel & Spa
We stayed for two days at this lovely hotel and enjoyed every minute. We requested a Matterhorn view room and didn't disappoint. We had a nice wooden balcony to soak in the sights of the mountains and this lovely Swiss town. The room was in great condition and very clean. Fully stocked mini fridge and their breakfast buffet was extremely diverse/delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Roughly a ten minute walk from the train station but have the option for a taxi pick-up/drop off at no cost. Can't wait to return in the winter time and would stay here again.
The hotel was immaculately clean and beautifully designed. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and elegant but not snooty. The staff were infinitely helpful and friendly. I couldn't have gotten a more positive impression from these folks. Our bar and breakfast experience was amazing. I want to know where they get their yogurt! Our room was comfortable and functional. The "Zermatt sheep" interior design theme was unique and fun. Our room had a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn and Zermatt. I can't imagine a better balance of comfort, function and aesthetic. I would give a "6" rating if I could. All of this with an affordable price tag. If you're visiting Zermatt STAY HERE.
The Europe Hotel has by far the friendliest and most attentive staff of anywhere we stayed in Switzerland. They were patient with our children and our lack of German. The room was modern, clean, and spacious. We had a family room with a pullout sofa made up for the kids (and little childsize bathrobes!) and a small balcony. The restaurant is wonderful and was the best food we had on our trip. Local fresh Swiss ingredients but more inspired than the usual Swiss cheesy potatoes. But not so fancy that they didn't have options for kids too. The breakfast was amazing and had every option you could want for breakfast. This was a luxury hotel experience without pretension. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Europe Hotel to anyone. Special thank yous to David and Jose our drivers, Agnes the lovely waitress, and Christopher front desk manager/concierge.…
It took us a long time to choose our hotel in Zermatt, and we were incredibly happy to have found and booked the Europe Hotel & Spa. First of all, because of its quiet but convenient location, and the beautiful views of the Matterhorn from some of its rooms as well as from its garden. Secondly, because of the excellent food, both at breakfast and at dinner (we recommend going for the half-board option). And third, because it is one of those rare hotels where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. All members of staff were absolutely amazing - at reception, at the bar, at the restaurant, and housekeeping. A particular thank you goes to Marit at the restaurant as well as her colleagues, who provided us with phenomenal service and really went the extra mile. We will certainly be back!…
We spent three fantastic nights at the Europe Hotel and Spa in Zermatt. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very attentive to all our needs. The room was amazing and the view could not be better. We recommend taking the 5 course meals as the food is incredible. A world class establishment!
We arrived and David who greeted us could not of been more helpful and friendly. After a long day of traveling from Zurich David was a welcoming and soothing voice. The room we had was amazing and views can not be beat. We are at the restaurant amazing fresh and home made food. One warning nothing to do with hotel but NO CARS are allowed in Zermatt. Call hotel first and they will tell u where to park and they were as equally friendly and helpful.
Came into town specifically to ski. Hotel Sarazena is not uber-luxury though not absolutely comfortable. Bougie not found here. Clean, convenient, professional, pleasant. Reception: Selina, Agnes, Catherine were most gracious and friendly. Each morning a well presented breakfast with Ursula tending to the needs of the guests. We had pleasant conversations each morning. A ski équipement room with a boot warmer. Two person sauna available in a dedicated relaxation room (reserve your 1hr time slot)-2 showers and 2 reclining (very relaxing) chaise chairs. Best part is the Hotel is located a short walk from the Bahnhof (Train station - last stop Zermatt) and a very capable Italian Restaurant / Casa Mia. Know Zermatt is a car free zone (horse drawn carriages, electric taxis and bus lines are the exception). Mind your step. Further, HS is close to the Red and Green line (Free of charge) buses that bring you to various spots (Restaurants and Gondola stations) around town. What’s more, a dedicated cogwheel train (gornergrat bahn) that brings you to the top (3100m) of the mountain - is located directly on Bahnhofplatz which is across from the Bahnhof and a 5 minute (more like 3) walk from Hotel Sarazena. Myself and a buddy each had a single room with private bath (tub for apre’ ski soaking) and a comfortable full size bed. Will absolutely return.…
I have stayd in Zermatt on many diffrent hotels- this is by far the most expensive one, and it is not worth it. The price for a Matterhorn-view room is about 3500 chf for a week in february/march. You get a wonderul room- but you can do better for this price- just book well in advance. What is good avout the hotel: -location. In the middle of the coty, but very quiet. -Cozy breakfast-resturant with Matterhorn view -the hotel is weel kept, the beds are wonderul, the interior is nice, and they do make your bed two times a day (and put chocolate on the pillow). What could be better: -the service (except for the lovley cleaning-people!!). They are not very friendly, and do not remember you. -the toilet in the room only have a glassdoor! So no privacy when it comes to sounds and view from the barhroom. - the breakfast is simple given the hotel-price. -the lobbybar /common rooms are a bit small and often full. -the hot-tub/pool is COLD and crowded. Do not bother going there. -All in all its just too expencive. Unless you are super rich (and this is a cheap hotel for you), you will not be very happy about what you get for your money.…
