break for lunch during a sky day: good food, wonderful location and service, prices standard for Switzerland. I strongly suggest to stop here for a short sky break if you are sking in the Cervinia/Zermatt sky area because is one of the best option you may have
Been here 4 years in a row from 2015 when I worked as a Nanny for a family. Great service, roome service, gym and spa. Friendly and happy staff. The food are fantastic! I have stayed in different rooms each year and they are all gorgeous and unique. Awesome ski-in and ski-out. They will pick up your bags and skiis from the mountain train/hotell when arriving and departure. If you what go up by train to the slopes or down to the villages they will take you to the train by their snowmobile. Comes in handy with the kids. I really recommend Rifflealp Resort. I would love to go back in the summer to explore the mountains.
I have stayed twice before in the newer resort but this time I wanted to stay in the smaller Hotel, so I booked just for the one night recently and was given room 31 with a lovely view of the mountains. All the rooms at the resort have been renovated and are certainly complete with all amenities one could need. Not long after my arrival I made my way to the main resort and went to the Spa to see if I could get reflexology and a back massage. It turns out a very helpful lady called Seline was able to see me later that afternoon.. Well it certainly was one of the best massages I have had and I can thoroughly recommend Seline The meals were nice enough and Breakfast was in the main dining room with a table facing the Matterhorn with the sun just exposing the top of it. I would have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful establishment.…
Stayed in a 40 sqm nature view room. Room was well appointed, almost decent tech (you can stream your own downloaded movies on to the Samsung tv) and comfort. But far too dark, with clumsy lay-out. Outside seating was cheapish. Piano-singer in the bar did not have a pleasant voice. Roomservice-menu was very unappealing. Dinner in the main restaurant was a series of clumsy interactions with wait-staff and the food was mediocre at best. The menu is unappealing. The dining-room is very dimly lit and dark. Seating is uncomfortable. Spa was decent - but to my mind run down, in need of a refurbishment. Massage was great, but the masseurs demenour was unprofessional. Check out was an ardeous affair, the staffmember seemed stressed and she was unresponsive to questions. Another staffmember at check out was also stressed and standoffish. I felt like a burdon to them. The outside area connected to the bar was the highlight of the hotel, pleasant seating, tasty nibbles, and the staff were almost up to the Lhw standards. The isolation means that you have to rely on the hotel`s food and beverage service. Here they have a long way to go in providing quality dining. Noisy intrusive hordes of Asian tour groups, they are utterly disrespectful of other guests trying to relax under the gaze of the beautiful Matterhorn. Foodservice needs a huge upgrade. Service in general was stiff, labored and lacking. Some areas could do with refurbishment. I will not return.…
True to its 5 star rating, Leading Hotel of the World and Swiss Deluxe Hotel, Riffelalp Resort majestically stand over 2km above sea level and does not disappoint. The rooms are beautiful, all the staff is excellent and very friendly while the view is simply astonishing. If you’re not a mountain person do not worry, the ‘train’ bring you in front of the door (literally). And the view of the Matterhorn is better than anywhere in Zermatt. Don’t wait and book your upcoming stay for the utmost serenity.
