Zermatt is a beautiful mountain town. No cars, no trucks, no big buildings for a total change of scenery. Not the average ski resort with a beautiful view on the Matterhorn (when not too cloudy). So of course the Hotel Phoenix is not a big complex but a very charming hotel. Located at walking distance from the center (10 min)... More

A short (10-minutes), easy walk from the train station - not bad at all. We had a room facing the back (from the entrance) with a nice view of the mountains. Breakfast in the morning was decent and the staff were friendly.

It is a good hotel and it is little walking from train station so if you having children or heavy luggage then take the electrical taxi as the road to hotel is little high climb (not difficult). The hotel is very quiet and the staff is very friendly and supportive. The breakfast is good and typical swiss breakfast. The hotel... More

We recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Phoenix and were delighted to book room 506. Our wish for staying in Zermatt was to have a balcony and our room was equipped with two balconies and a lovely view of the Matterhorn. Cocktail hour on the balcony with the mountains in the background can't be beat. The... More

Wonderful accommodations! Room was very comfortable and within walking distance of everything including train station. The breakfast was so delicious with vast array of cheeses, fish, fruits and pastries. Will definitely stay again.

The Hotel is slightly away from the station but a short walk away. The rooms are cozy and the staff at the reception is very courteous. It was raining that morning so we couldn't go up to see the matterhorn but the staff showed us plenty of things to do in the village and they also provided us extra blankets.... More

A year ago we visited Zermatt and stayed in the Hotel Phoenix, so without hesitation, we reserved a room again for five nights in September. Beautiful room with view from balcony of the Matterhorn, excellent and very cordial service, and wonderful, generous breakfast buffet. The rooms are lovely, contemporary in style, immaculate. We highly recommend the hotel as well as... More

We came in on the Glacier Express under cloudy skies and light rain, and smiled at the very nice receptionist's hopeful wish that our Matterhorn-view room would have a view. We were there only two nights, and since the Matterhorn is something like Mt. Rainier (80% of visitors go away without seeing the mountain), we wondered. Still, we went to... More

We spent 2 nights after arriving with glacier express at the evening. It was a short and pleasant walk from train station, easy to find, but there is a short uphill section so if you pulling heavy luggage you may ask hotel to come get you with their electric car or take a taxi. Hotel is not on Main Street... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in room 103. This level is downstairs from the lobby and has a terrace rather than balcony. But we were on a budget so you can't expect the same view of the magnificent Matterhorn. That being said, we just walked outside a bit, looked left and had great views anyway. As per most places we've... More
