We had booked a room with a balcony and half board (breakfast) at this sweet small hotel in the midst of the Swiss Alps! Our expectations were well met and we enjoyed a very short visit to view The Matterhorn. The service was excellent regarding our room, the restaurant and transportation. This matches all of the hospitality that is so...

This was a great room and we had a good time here. We were in room 2, first floor, above the cafe looking direct at the Matterhorn. We could not “lay in bed and see the Matterhorn” unless we turned head-to-toe, but it was a very direct view. The room is very large, with a kind size bed, end tables,...

Comparatively cheap price, view of Matterhorn in your balcony, near Matterhorn Glacier Paradise cable car, decent and clean beds, room and toilet, got your basic accommodation needs, even comes with complete and filling breakfast. Did I say it's cheap? Oh yes :) and this may be so because it is not within 500m perimeter distance from Zermatt train station where...

We thank for your nice review of your stay at the Alpenrose. When it comes to the price it also helped that you stayed at the hotel in April, when our off-season is starting. But we are glad you liked the value you got for your money.

Just completed my third stay at the Alpenrose. This is now our go to place for a short ski stay in Zermatt. The Hotel has a great view of the Matterhorn and is located very close to the Matterhorn lift station. The hotel is clean and quiet. A very good three star hotel by swiss standards. The staff is very...

Stayed in a twin room which had a dual aspect balcony with views of the river and the Matterhorn. Room was clean and comfortable, good water pressure on the shower. Location ideal for skiing just a minute or so level walk from the lifts and slopes. Breakfast typical of small alpine hotel (boiled egg, selection of cereals, fruit, breads, meat)....

Dear guest, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Alpenrose and appreciated our service. Regarding your suggestion: The gadget in our ski room is a boot dryer, not a boot warmer. It is cold in the morning, because other guests were complaining that they started sweating in their boots even before they left the hotel when it stayed...

We have now stayed at the Hotel Alpenrose twice. Both times were wonderful. The view from the "Matterhorn view" rooms can't be beat. It is also nice to come home after a day of hiking and have a drink downstairs on the terrace attached to the restaurant. The food is not bad either. The rooms are clean and the balconies...

We arrived in Zermatt after an exhausting 4 hr drive and train ride with no reservations or idea of where to stay. A friend had mentioned earlier to us that she had stayed at the Alpenrose before and thought it was good. We used the hotel phone reservation board at the train station to call some hotels. Called the Alpenrose...

Dear Guest, We thank for your comments and are glad you liked your stay at the Alpenrose. We regret that we forgot to mention on the phone the construction going on next to our hotel in summer 2014. Fortunately the building was finished by Christmas, so our situation is again all quiet this year.

Had dinner on their terrace with a great view of the Matterhorn. Good salads. Very friendly service and good food. Mad it got cooler later in the evening we moved inside. They accommodated us gracefully. My son enjoyed a nice desert. We did not stay in hotel, so no experience there.

This place is like a family hotel at far end of the zermatt station though the walk is quite enjoyable. Zermatt is a small town so it does not matter. The staff is courteous and very helpful. I was upgraded to a double room and everything was as expected. The internet speeds were good and free. Breakfast was ok but...
