Beautiful view, on the street, but not disturbing. Well-insulated rooms unless you have a "camel" above you. Very clean, rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed. Great, extensive breakfast buffet. Everything is replenished and checked, great service! Compliments to this friendly staff. The only negative point is the parking situation, which is very difficult. You have to report to reception, then an employee is called to accompany the guest to the underground car park so that you can drive in or out thanks to the special parking system. There are 4 parking spaces in front of the hotel, unfortunately it didn't work with our reserved outside parking space. There is a lot that could be improved.

When we visit Lugano we usually stay around the center. This time we decided to stay at Paradiso area and chose Best Western hotel. It is a nice quiet area, at the same time close to the center, about 10-15 minutes walk, or a couple of bus stops. The hotel has a good location with a beautiful view of the lake. Our room had a side lake view, so we enjoyed our early morning coffee on the balcony. The room was clean and had all what one needs, mini bar, kettle with tea snd coffee… The staff are kind and helpful. Breakfast room has a terrace/garden where one can enjoy a quiet morning. It had a good variety. We also had dinner once at this garden which was good. We will probably be staying at Paradiso when in Lugano and will probably choose this hotel again.

Stayed for the weekend and had a room with a lake view which was beautiful - and that’s really what you’re paying for here. The room itself was tired and in need of updating, although very clean. The bed was really not very comfortable and every time my husband turned over I seemed to shoot in the air! The pillows were fine though. Noisy road but sound proofing is excellent if you have the doors closed at night. Coffee tray in the room was not filled up despite repeated requests and neither was the shower gel.
The bar and restaurant were fine although we didn’t eat dinner there we did have breakfast. Slightly chaotic with all the Covid restrictions. They could make the serving area larger to allow people to better see what’s on offer (a pretty decent continental).
Staff very pleasant and friendly and there’s a pool which was being readied for the summer which looked good.

Terrible experience. We booked 2x Junior suite rooms and our rooms were facing the back of the hotel ! We booked 3 months prior and was promised lake facing rooms. Lower category rooms were lake facing. Check in lady didn’t give us city visit pass and we spent over 75chf on travelling ! After 2 days we found that the hotel gives the passes free. Our suite was smelling of paint. The beds were on wheels and moved when you shifted your body. Bathroom has a hand shower which doesn’t go above 5 feet or 155 cms !! The water pressure is extremely low. After spending over $350 per night per room, it’s like a highway robbery. It’s a 2 star hotel charging you 5 star rates

We appreciate comments which help us to improve our services, but reading your comments, there are some misunderstandings: - Our Junior suites and suites do not have direct lake view - However our deluxe rooms have direct lake view Both explanations are published on our websites. - Your room was not freshly paint - Beds are on wheels to be separated easily (probably stopper was not activated, sorry) - When more than a 100 persons take a shower or a bath at the same time, the water pressure sometimes results to be lower. We think this is a minor problem. We are trying to solve this problem. We take the liberty to mention another comment about our Hotel: " Dear staff of Best Western Thank you so much for an absolutely wonderful stay at your lovely hotel. You were all so amazing, kind and attentive to us from the moment we stopped into the hotel lobby. The positive first: The location of the hotel is top-notch. But that's about it, unfortunately.
The hospitality seems to have gotten stuck somewhere in the dark furniture and dusty carpets. As a guest, you have to earn a "buongiorno" or a smile from the hotel staff. The staff, whether at reception or at breakfast, don't really seem to enjoy their work.
About this breakfast: The region offers such a variety of cuisine; unfortunately, it doesn't find its way to the Bellevue Au Lac. In a hotel of this price range, a more original selection of dishes and a certain amount of variety is expected. But of course: three types of run-of-the-mill cheese, a bit of supermarket cold cuts and a standard scrambled egg is the simplest and cheapest for the hotel.
The Junior Suite Superior is certainly bright and spacious. However, the tasteless and cheap white furniture from decades past has yellowed. The mattress is extremely uncomfortable and there are three different colors on the walls. The sofa bed is fine in a student shared apartment, but not in a 4**** hotel. The window frames and ledges were terribly dusty. The dead flies on the latter were already there when we moved into the room and stayed with us from Tuesday to Friday. The large terrace is not very inviting and urgently needs to be thoroughly cleaned. We arranged the chairs accordingly for the fireworks on August 1st. They then stood there like that for three days. A lack of thoroughness across the board and obviously no quality control.
Conclusion: The Bellevue Au Lac could be a great 4**** hotel, but the price/performance ratio is currently completely unbalanced. The rooms need a major makeover and the catering is unimaginative. But above all, you want to be welcomed as a guest in such a place. And unfortunately, that feeling never arose during our 4 days.

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location. The corner family room/suite was good size and comfortable enough for 4. The views from the balconies are mesmerizing. The room was clean and AC efficient on a hot July. Our room was ready even though we arrive a bit early and parking on the property was easy and convenient. Breakfast had many wonderful choices for everyone. Nice lounge to sit, have a few drinks and relax. Would stay here again.

As a family of 4, we really enjoyed this hotel. We booked a family room, which ended up being a corner room on the back side, which had a balcony where we could see the lake as well as the pool. Our room felt slightly dated, but was clean, roomy and comfortable.
The staff were all friendly and we sere surprised that our room came with Ticino tickets for transportation within the area. It was super handy for getting into town and around. The staff also helped plan excursions around the area.
Breakfast was plentiful and I really enjoyed the coffees, fresh fruit, and cheese and meat. The breakfast area is nice with a patio out to the lake view.
We didn't have time to visit the pool and it was a bit chilly when we were there, but it looked very clean and of a good size.
The only thing I would add is that there is not a coffee maker in the room, although there is a water kettle.

This hotel ended up charging me double for my stay. When I have tried to approach the hotel so that my credit card can be refunded for the extra 600 dollars that I was charged the hotel said it was not their responsibility! They refuse to stand up to try to help their customers. I was told that this overcharging recently happened to over 28 people! They are not really a Best Western. They are a franchise so the corporate office does not follow up. Nothing about the hotel was even that great. Food in restaurant was mediocre. The only good thing was the close walking distance to downtown. BE VERY CAREFUL if you stay here...they will not stand behind their name.

I returned to this hotel for the second time, and it is even better! We are a couple that likes to find comfy hotels that are on the luxurious side, but not too pricey. Between our previous visit and this last one, which was in May 2021, they renewed all beds and got the new mattresses (which was my only negative point at the previous visit). Beds are big enough even for people with height over 1,90m. Rooms are nicely equipped, and the bathrooms with toiletries are clean and warm enough (!). The safety measures during covid are perfect. All the staff is super helpful, nice and they create a great atmosphere! The food is freshly prepared and really good. It's super handy to dine in, when you've just came from the travel and you have no wish to stroll around the city. The hotel is situated just 10 mins away from the city center of a nice walk along the promenade, which offers a great romantic walks at the evening after a nice dinner in one of the many good Lugano restaurants. The hotel has a covered garage that you can book (for extra payment) and it's a welcome service when traveling by car. Great comfort for a nice price!

We booked this hotel while on a train trip in Switzerland. The hotel is about 30-40 min walk from the main station.
Overall the hotel did not fully live up to the Best Western brand standards. This refers to various aspects, such as room quality, amenities, and overall service. In particular the quality of food served in the hotel restaurant is subpar. The dining experience did not meet our expectations.
