2020 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
The Kulm Hotel is located in the heart of St. Moritz and has 164 rooms and suites, six restaurants and three bars, a nine-hole golf course and a modern 2,000-square-meter spa. The luxurious Grand Hotel looks back on a historic past. In 1864 winter tourism was started here by the hotel pioneer and former owner Johannes Badrutt. To this day the Kulm Hotel is undergoing constant development. 26 rooms and suites were redesigned in 2015 by French star architect Pierre-Yves Rochon. Further innovations followed in summer 2018 with the conversion of 40 innovative rooms and suites. More refurbishments were made in 2019. Highlight since the winter season 2016/17 is the Kulm Country Club. The luxury hotel may regularly adorn itself with awards. In 2020 the Swiss business magazine Bilanz awarded the 14th place of the best Swiss holiday hotels. Connoisseur Circle named the hotel the 2nd best "Mountain Hotel" in Switzerland. Tripadvisor assigned the highest distinction: Travellers' Choice Best of the Best Award 2020: place 6 in the category «Best Top - Switzerland» and place 9 in the category «Best Luxury - Switzerland». In August 2017, the hotel was awarded the Hotel of the Year 2018 by Gault Millau Switzerland.

Hotel's Favorite
The Kulm Hotel in St. Moritz used to be my my very first 5-Star-Superior experience at the time. After several visits I must say that I have not seen a hotel structure reaching the same level of perfection ever since. In my view It it should be a role model for many five star houses in Switzerland and beyond. This time I was assigned one of the renovated rooms which was once more next level - very contemporary and authentic at the same time. The hotel staff was again very welcoming, competent and friendly. The strong footprint of a management paying attention to the tiniest details could be felt during the entire stay. All the current COVID-19 measures were implemented in a very discrete but nevertheless highly diligent way. Will definitely be back again soon!

Having been to St Moritz many times in the winter, I decided to visit this summer on my return to Scotland from Italy. I always wanted to stay at The Kulm. I got a very good deal of £1,500 for 5 nights B&B. So! First impressions do matter and this time it was the one I presented arriving in my battered campervan. The concierge could not hide his dissatisfaction at me arriving in this. He directed me to local parking until, on the second time of telling him I was a guest, he begrudgingly allowed me to park. Not a great first experience on my side. The hotel is stunning and the south facing delux single with balcony was as big and well presented as any double of any other hotel. On the first eve I ate in the main hotel restaraunt. Whilst the food was very tastie, it was at best warm. The service was unbearable. There are just too many staff all attempting to do their job. Within 5 mins my glass was filled 3 times, even although I hadn't drunk from it. Even after asking the sommelier to leave it and I would look after it myself, 3 others attempted to fill it. The waiting staff were the same. every time you put down your cutlery the plate was removed. I moved the side plate and cutlery and a waiter appeared and moved it back. I had to ask 3 times for them to leave me alone and for them to slow down....before indigestion set in. Unfortunately at £120, due to it being look warm and the over fussy, impossing service it's not value for money. The following day I complained to reception and whilst she listened intently I would have expected a manager to make the point to speak to me, but they didn't. The position of the Kulm is fantastic and affords guests incredible views; nowhere so fantastic as the health spa and outdoor pool. The fitness and health facilities are second to none. Numerous saunas and steam rooms, infrared massage chairs and views to die for. But! The jewel in the crown is the Spa team. I endes up having treatments every day. The deep tissue massage and sports massage fixed problems I have had for years. The whole trip was worth just that. They are so friendly and professional and not impossing at all. The senior management team of the hotel need to take the style of service offered there and emulate it elsewhere. I ate in the hotel pizzaria, which was casual and nice and by far the nearest to 'normal' priced all non swiss guests will experience at the Kulm. I ate at their golf club which was by far the best meal I had. The breakfast buffett is everything you could want, but staff are again over fussy and on the one occassion I ordered poaches eggs on toast, they were stone cold, watery and the toast hard. I make better ar home. Be carefull if you have secured a cheap rate to stay some may be shocked by extras bills. It is very easy to allow that to run away with it'self. A coffee and cake in the lobby costs €45. parking €23 per day. The hotel advertises as 'dog friendly' which they are in certian areas, but it's an eye watering €40 per night, and no the dog doesn't get anything for it. The housekeeping staff are superb and so friendly and mine was very dog friendly. All in all the Kulm is a fantastic experience and second to none for position and views. They really need to change the restaraunt management and style. I would def go back again if just for the position and the Spa staff.

We know the hotel well during the ski season and have stayed many times. This was our first summer stay, for a week and the service was as good as normal and we were allocated our same junior suite overlooking the lake. Great food and wine, excellent tennis and quality golf in Samedan & Zuoz. Zuoz was the more challenging track! The Kulm continues to be our favourite hotel in St Moritz. A delight in the summer too.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by name, our bags whisked away and the valet guy made our car disappear... all within 90 seconds. We were escorted to the front desk, offered a complimentary room upgrade and shown to our gorgeous room overlooking the lake. In the evening we enjoyed a 6 course delicious meal! We had a great stay and would be back in a heartbeat
