This hotel lives up to it's 'Quality' name! Nothing to complain about because you have so much convenience within direct reach of the hotel like the main train station and restaurants. There are splendid panoramic views over Lake St.Moritz and the Swiss Alps. After a long day skiing, make sure to enjoy the on-site spa facilities.
We ate several times in the large garden of this beautiful hotel, where the tables are protected from any wind and the garden atmosphere is perfect. It is such a lovely experience. The food is excellent and the service very professional. There is also a smaller restaurant called the Stuva inside, a smallish room with beautiful wood panelling all over and charming views outside through the windows. It is very traditional and cosy. Its like a picture in a fairy tale. Its the same food and its delicious. After coming for several years to Sils we finally found this restaurant and are very glad. Vert friendly and knowledgeable waiters, who really know their wines as well. The wine list was extensive and interesting and the food delicious. I wish we had found this restaurant earlier!
La margna is a typical swiss hotel very well located in St moritz. Nice bedrooms and excelent amenities with SPA. Room are bigs and well decorated eith wood and typical fabrics. Book at least one dinner..worth the price. Multilingual staff very helpful and always available. Just in front on train station which is very convenient but no noisy during our stay. We recommend a lot !!
My wife and I needed to get away and forget our worries. The Hotel La Margna provided the most special getaway for us. The moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with a warm Swiss greeting by the helpful bellhops. The friendly front desk staff helped with our check in and directed us to our room. The room was warm and cozy while being very quiet. The views were spectacular with a clear view over looking the frozen lake and the tall mountains. For dinner we dined in the stuevetta and enjoyed traditional Swiss cuisine. The fondue was fantastic! The wait staff was friendly and very accommodating. St. Moritz was beautiful and the people were friendly. The skiing on the mountains was surreal. The hotel even brought us to the lifts. I have a feeling that we will come back and visit in the future. Thank you La Margna!…
I stayed in this lovely hotel for a few days in January for a quiet get-away. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the "old world" spirit, which to me added a lot of character and charme. This was also very much owed to the helpfulness and friendliness of the front desk staff, who would always go out of their ways to help. Also, the food in the "Stüvetta" was to die for!!!! If you are looking for genuine and unpretentious, this is your right choice!
This was our second time staying at La Margna and it was a genuine pleasure. The hotel is old, spacious and charming with a hospitality that exceeds other Swiss hotels we have stayed at. We will definetely choose La Margna for our future trips to St. Moritz!
LA Margna Hotel is listed as 4 star and definitely deserves every star!!!Cannot fault it,staff very very helpful and friendly and they all seem to speak whatever language is necessary. Stayed at La Margna for a four night ski holiday. Was welcomed by Michael the hotel manager and given a choice of rooms. Berni - the fabulous restaurant manager - took personal care over breakfast and meal arrangements and the front desk accommodated my many transfer requests to the different cable and lift stations all over town. I believe the hotel was built around 1907 so lots of wood panelling and pine furniture in the swiss tradition. Very clean and friendly 4 star Will definitely visit again.
We stayed at the family run La Margna overlooking the lake. The hotel was perfect for peace and tranquillity. Location was great for walking the forest trails and for biking and one day taking the train to the cable cars. Brilliant. I always try and book family run hotels and this has now been used 4 times by myself taking motor cycle groups. Great food, staff, hotel, quality everywhere.
The hotel was just a few minutes walk from the rail station, and even in the snow this was no problem. The staff was more than welcoming and multi-lingual. I believe the General Manager was there, a young German woman who was so kind, polite and always making sure that we were happy. We were given a wonderful corner room with nice-smelling wood panelling - it felt like being in a Swiss chalet Stube. The food was fantastic at the Swiss restaurant. I had both the fondue and rosti which were great and the service from the Scottish waitress was just wonderful. She was so kind and so very efficient. There is a free shuttle to the ski lift and then later back to the hotel. Very convenient. Loved the ski slopes in St. Moritz. Something for everyone and me being a non-experienced skier did not have to worry about overcrowded slopes filled with drunken people more interested in partying than skiing. Would definitely go back, although I understand the hotel is being taken over by a Greek hotel group. I only hope they are smart enough to retain the old-world charm and elements of the hotel.…
