The Hotel Falken is one of the oldest in Wengen, a charming little mountain village perched on the edge of the spectacular Lauterbrunnen Valley. It is not exaggeration to say the valley resembles Yosemite. The hotel is run by long time family owners, and they...More

How do I even begin to describe how amazing this hotel is?? I suppose I will start at the beginning. I am from the US, my husband and I decided that we wanted to have our wedding in our favorite place - Jungfrau Region. So...More
A very beautiful and old style classic hotel. I really love the classical decoration anywhere inside the hotel. Friendly staffs, clean and comfort room good breakfast, just let you feel like to stay at your home.
I attended one of the most amazing weddings here. The views were breathtaking when facing the mountains (south). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Buddy (Cocker Spaniel) was always there to greet you when you came back.
We stayed at Falken Wengen while visiting Jungfrau area. The hotel has great public rooms: a sun porch, a card room, a large living room, lots of oriental rugs...,.much like hotels in the early 1900s! The proprietor greets you with a sparkling ( non alcoholic)...More

Do guests dress for dinner at hotel falken? We are going to be visiting in July and are a bit unsure the kind of clothes to bring as it may be sunny, possibly snow in the jungfrau, and ime told its cooler in the evenings, also we have a discovery package which includes a trip to the jungfrau, synigge platte and some waterfalls, we will have a swiss CARD included but do people think it is worth buying a swiss pass? We want to go to interlaken and other places and the snow park in the jungfrau.

We had the breakfast package for Hotel Falken and had dinner at Sina's which was spectacular. Falken has a wonderful formal dining room with linen and silver. At breakfast, guests are dressed for their day of skiing or hiking, depending on the season. If you email the hotel, they will give you a practical answer on the dinner dress code. Through the week they have some buffet dinners. The town is very outdoorsy casual.
We don't have any experience with the Swiss card, but the fare to the Top of Europe is pricey and not covered by a Eurail pass. If it works with your schedule, try to go on a clear day. The Ice Palace was my favorite. My children really enjoyed the sledding. Try fondue or raclat or rosti for lunch while you are there.
