May be we were there during the lull season so the staff didn't have the mood/energy to run/operate the hotel.

Our room, overlooking the mountains and the valley, was cozy, comfortable and complete with everything we needed. The staff was helpful and personable; breakfast was fresh and varied. Highly recommend Hotel Falken for your Wengen stay!

Coming down the mountain you can ski straight to the hotel and onwards to the lift if you want.

We had the breakfast package for Hotel Falken and had dinner at Sina's which was spectacular. Falken has a wonderful formal dining room with linen and silver. At breakfast, guests are dressed for their day of skiing or hiking, depending on the season. If you email the hotel, they will give you a practical answer on the dinner dress code. Through the week they have some buffet dinners. The town is very outdoorsy casual.
We don't have any experience with the Swiss card, but the fare to the Top of Europe is pricey and not covered by a Eurail pass. If it works with your schedule, try to go on a clear day. The Ice Palace was my favorite. My children really enjoyed the sledding. Try fondue or raclat or rosti for lunch while you are there.
