This hotel is really a old chalet on the side of the mountain with fantastic views, it's been renovated rather nicely & has a good restaurant on the ground floor. In summer it can be reached by a steep single track road with passing places....More

Best place to stay
Our room was ROOM 103. The toilet is seperate. So it is little inconvenient.
There's no place like that here.
The whole family was so happy I was the most impressive and memorable hostel!
It was the best of my trip to Switzerland.
Next time I have another chance, I want to go back again
We had a wonderful stay at Berhaus Bort! The road to get there is indeed a narrow, single vehicle road but we had absolutely no issues making our way up the road. I could see it being difficult at night though. Our GPS off our...More

Highly recommend Berghaus Bort :) - definitely worth the trip up the mountain to get there. I am guessing you would be arriving by train at the main train station - from there you can either walk (our family of 5 did - took about 10-15 mins) or catch a bus which leaves from the stops just next to the station. Take the bus to the Firstbahn gondola station - from there you can buy your tickets (though if you haven't already purchased child / family travel passes for Switzerland it is worth investigating this at the train station ticket office as it offers some good discounts on the railways and gondolas in the mountains).
Getting up in the gondola to Berghaus Bort is no issue with luggage -- the gondola operators are pretty friendly and will help to load the luggage in another gondola to follow you up.
Enjoy Berghaus Bort! - make sure you opt for half board -- breakfasts are brilliant and three course dinners each night are just beautiful (child menus available too). Drinks on the outdoor terrace with mountain views are a must!
