Nice view from room can see Mt Eiger, considerate and nice staff, very convenient location, 5mins walk from hotel to Grindelwald station and supermarket. The main road to the hotel is under construction when I visited, so it's a bit tough to bring luggage walk up to the hotel.

We loved staying here for a couple of nights. The hike up the hill approx 200m is a hike when hot and in motorcycle gear! But was worth every little drip of sweat. Good check in, comfy beds and good showers. Lovely balcony over looking township and out to the Alps/Eiger. Breakfast was standard fare of yoghurt/bread/cheeses/meat.

The hotel was located near to the train station with a very beautiful view. Beautiful chimes of the bells from the goats nearby; Spacious room and a balcony overlooking the alps. Breakfast was great with a good selection of breads, jams and cheese. The slope leading to the hotel may be a good exercise for some though. Overall, satisfied stay

Stayed in the hotel Sonnenberg for 3 weeks in March. I had the benefit of using a room in the chalet annexe which also had a small kitchenette. This was especially useful as it saved on eating out every night which, when you're there for 3 weeks does become tiresome as it does expensive. Breakfasts are plentiful and fresh each... More

The view was wonderful. The room was clean. But the reception employee woman was very unfriendly and unhelpful. They didn't help us to take our luggages to the hotel because it's 200 meters up from the tiny car parking. The receptionist woman imposed us to pay 15 francs more for someone to help us carrying our luggages up to hotel... More

We had stayed there last year and I was happy to go back. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a lovely bathroom. My room this year had a fantastic view from the balcony to the Eiger. It's a small climb from the station, but that means it is very peaceful - away from the tourists! Last year I had... More

The car park is very small and far about 200 meters. If you have a heavy bags it will be difficult to take it up to the hotel. The breakfast isn't various. The reception employee isn't cooperating. The only good thing was the clean of the room and the view, And the waitress was very kind and helpful.

I stayed there in September 2014 and found it to have friendly staff, a very clean and charming room and a good breakfast buffet The view from the hotel is gorgeous, which means it is a bit of a climb when coming from the train station and/or the parking area. Well worth it and not a problem at all for... More

I stayed at Hotel Sonnenberg for 2 nights and my room was quite good. Pros: 1. The room was very spacious with a small balcony with very nice views over Grindelwald. 2. There is a gentleman who was managing the hotel..and I really appreciated his friendliness. He came down and helped us with the luggage and suggested a nice Indian... More

This lovely hotel is in an elevated position above central Grindelwald. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the village across to the Eiger. The view from the balcony is fantastic! The room was a good size, with a king sized bed and a sofa and table and a modern, clean bathroom. Breakfast was a cold buffet, with... More
