Aug 2022 We stayed here for a week, and we didn't come in expecting much, but Wao oh Wao, the whole team is exceptional. Everyone is very, very friendly and have a smile on their face. The housekeeping team are soo kind and friendly, especially a young man called Rodrigo from Portugal, and a lady called Angelina. The rooms are stunning, they have a personal touch feeling to them. I have to commend the room service team, the food is excellent, the service is magnificent, for the first time, a hotel has delivered on time, and before time not one thing went wrong. Angelina, Alexander and Rodrigo from housekeeping is always smiley and happy Ate a few times at the restaurant and 5star all round, the Indian lamb with spinach, chicken tikker is the best one I’ve had soo far. The spa is absolutely stunning, beautiful and calm. Lovely friendly Spa manager checked on us. Spa staff are all very kind. The feeling I got is that everyone and I mean everyone is ready to make things happen, nothings too big of an ask. We felt extremely welcomed throughout our stay. When management has happy staff, the service trickles down. We will definitely come back again next year The above review is for 2022 Just found the above draft review Feb 2023 What can I say, we’re back and all I can say is wao. All and I mean all staff have exceeded our expectations, I couldn’t fault anything. Our stay was super amazing. The housekeeping team were the same as August year, the room service is the best we've ever had in the world, everything and everyone was exceptional. The front desk staff are always willing to help and are always smiling. We will be back soon…
A perfect long week-end from Thursday to Sunday. Fabulous and most attentive service, great and luxurious accommodation and first class food. Hotel is marvelouslylocated at a 5mn walk from the center of town
Drinks & Dinner at the palace. Service was average at best. multiple waiters kept getting confused about orders / dishes. Some didnt speak German or English so had ro consult amongst each other. We were presented with a dish with "basmati rice" but they just forgot to serve the rice. Drinks on the rock came without ice cubes, champagne glasses were served with less than advertized and some waters that were served at another table were being opened on our table (never in my life have I seen this and in my view this is unacceptable. How would you feel if your drink was prepared on another persons table before served to you?) Our dishes looked like from the 1970's. Food quality was very good but in 2023 I would hope for some modernization of the food presentation. Overall vibe / crowd fairly stuffy. As somebody else noticed before, why do you have pay 2 CHF for your coats (which by the way the waiters were kindly to collect upon arrival but them asked us to collect ourselves upon leaving). Somebody left their dog in the cloakroom, poor animal was unhappy and crying loudly. Gstaad has many amazing places, for me this is certainly not one of them.…
The last week of August 2022, I stayed at the Palace for a third time to do another tennis week with Roy Emerson (a true tennis legend). Just as my two previous times, my experience at this hotel was superb. From the room (deluxe with mountain view), the service, the spa, and the food, everything was perfect, so much so that I'm going to be back next summer.
Imagine arriving after 10pm on a warm summer evening. Room service options at this hour likely to be sketchy, I reckon. Expectations suitably adjusted. Before 10.25pm, there is a polite knock at the door. A chef and waiter, both immaculately dressed, warm smiles, hearty humour and rather delicious fare - in my case, lobster bisque followed by lobster loaded Summer Club Sandwich followed by winning tiramisu (with yummy mocha ice cream). Expectations blown out of the water (in a well-mannered Swiss sort of way). After a good night’s sleep, a new day. They can’t sustain this. Buffet breakfast with a table on the terrace - very tasty, belter of a cheeseboard, nice a la carte dishes, piping hot beverages. Back to junior suite 128. Another knock on the door. It can’t be room service - aha, must be a crossed wire. No crossed wires at the Gstaad Palace. A beautiful wrapped present and handwritten card to mark a family birthday - hand-delivered by a very dapper chap, with the compliments of the Scherz family. A couple of early wins. Let’s have a look at the outdoor pool - it’s been going since 1928. Might need a lick of paint, surely? No. Olympic length. 3 diving boards (the 5m board is a smasher). Al fresco dining. Nice vibe. Pristine facilities. No re-paint required. (Gstaad Palace annual maintenance budget tops 4,000,000 CHF). Indoor pool and spa tell a similar story. Time to re-group. Back to the veranda for dinner. Spectacular pastoral views. Tick. Extensive a la carte menu. Tick. Personable staff. Tick. No dropped balls. Tick. Then the soloist inexplicably stops singing. A chocolate cake mysteriously appears at our table, with customized icing, sparkler and an accompanying ensemble worthy of Carnegie Hall knocking three verses of “Happy Birthday” out of the park. Every member of staff we met was a keeper. A truly delightful trip. Andrea Scherz is not a hotelier, despite what all the awards, columnists and reviewers say. He is a genius.…
We came to the hotel on the 13th until the 20th of July. We have already been to this hotel a few times, and we can definitely say that there are many positive new facilities added to the Palace. For instant, the Indoor Pool, the Spa Jacuzzi as well as the new Spa lounge. The employees were nothing but extraordinary, kind, and helpful. Always smiling, not a single bad thing to say. From the reception, to the spa, to the PISCINE, housekeeping and restaurant employees. We want to thank you every single employee who has made our stay delightful and unique. We look forward to coming back very soon. We definitely recommend this beautiful property to anyone who wants to have paradise on earth.
It was our privilege to spend a week in this quality hotel seated in a magical location. We went to play tennis with our grandchildren, but had an experience that exceeded our expectations. Where to start? Rooms, food, and amenities are the best of the best...but there is even more. The staff. At every turn they were there and so accommodating and friendly, it was like visiting a long time friend. The waitstaff, bellmen, front desk, housekeeping and spa. All had a smile and a pleasant word. Reaching out to guests from all over the world, they made us feel at home. No request was to small or trivial and all responses were with smiles. Yes, we will come again. Yes, we highly recommend your visit.
I've stayed at the Palace two times already and I'm going back again this summer. The rooms, the views, the food, the spa and the service are top notch. The attention to detail is evident in absolutely every little corner of this hotel.
Life tends to adopt a prismatic perspective, where the many events of our days scatter through a multifocal perspective to produce the portraits of our lives. Here I was, here I am, here I shall be again. One crosses the threshold of this establishment to enter a time that is apart from our own. The Palace continues to hold itself to the utmost standards in customer care and kindness. They’ll even fetch a doctor for you if you have a moment on the slopes. By and large, the warmth and kindness of this place has yet to abate since my youth. I shall return here again and again. It’s not a hotel. It’s a winter home. It’s a place of hearth, love and kindness. In case I’ve been too subtle - it’s one of the best on earth.
We organized a Sales Team Meeting at the Gstaad Palace. What an amazing organisation. ALL our the team have been so well welcomed. Our sales team was so happy to discover what a real Palace means in terms of premises and service quality. Most probably the best Lobby Bar ambiance of its class in the world.
