The metropol is opposite the train station. It has small simple rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast is ok. Not a full cooked breakfast but perfectly good coffee and a good selection of food... Including chocolate! Staff are lovely and the restaurant is quite popular in evenings

I've stayed here before for business, and it was pleasant but most importantly a good location by the train station. However, it's midnight, and there is loud construction ongoing right outside of my window. Therefore this gets a low rating. You may want to ask and check on the construction status before staying here.

The hotel is right across the trainstation. At the moment the station is under construction. So it might be that you can't sleep late. Of course there is always something going on outside (station). The rooms are not very big and a little outdated (they will renovate the hotel in 2018). The bathroom was quite small. The breakfast is great... More

The hotel is directly across the square from the railway station where trolley and normal buses pick up train travellers. The rooms are small and it is best if you can get a corner room. he bathrooms are big and have every convenience even if a l ttle old fashioned. Breakfast is excellent and the staff top up your beverages... More

The hotel is conveniently located across from the train station and a short walk from the old town. The bed was comfortable and while it was usable, the bathroom was tiny. The breakfast buffet is top notch.

There couldn't be a better location coming in and out from the train and I have stayed here before very comfortable rooms and a nice walk to the old city streets of St. Gallen but currently heavy construction so if you don't mind a few jack hammers and massive drills that get you going in the morning this is the... We stayed in this hotel as part of a self guided bike tour package - it was a bit of a challenge to find and the area is in the middle of major works and is right across from the station - the footpath was full of smokers - but inside the hotel itself was lovely - our room was... More

This hotel is literally across the street from the main train station. It’s great for us because we didn’t have to drag the luggage too far across town. And more importantly, you can walk from the hotel to the shopping district and the abbey with ease. All three hotel staffs we had conversation with spoke good English. They were helpful... More

I had a one night stay at the Metropol for business. The hotel is conveniently located right by the station, and close to the city centre. The university campus is a short taxi/bus ride away. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The wifi was reliable. Breakfast was a fairly broad continental range. Staff friendly. I would use again... More

If you're in the city of St. Gallen, chances are you're there for either work or you're visiting family. If you are there for the former, the Hotel Metropol is a decent place, but nothing to write home about. On the positive side, Hotel Metropol is very clean, conveniently located right near the train station, and employs a very friendly... More
