We had some lovely days at this hotel. The view from the sea pavilion is just amazing and from the balcony we could go directly into the water for a swim. Be aware of that the ladder is very slippery when one is climbing up. Unfortunately there is no other proper swimming area at the hotel. The room was clean, modern and quite large. We had our breakfasts at the balcony- just lovely! Dogs are allowed but cost 30 CHF per night and dog. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I‘ve been to numerous 5* hotels, but Hotel Palafitte is by far one of my favorites. Their lake pavilion has such a functional as well as stylish architecture and interior. It’s like balm for design-loving souls. You have everything you could wish for: jacuzzi bathtub, automatic mosquito net and blinds, direct access to the lake from your balcony and an extra bed. Even in winter months the whole pavilion is flooded with light. Breakfast and service were splendid. Just had the most relaxing time. Will for sure book again in the near future. Highly recommend!
Went for only 1 night and would have liked to stay a lot more. The room was absolutely amazing. Confortable bed, very modern, fantastic bathroom and wonderful terrace to the lake and views to the Alps. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and the hotel team was very helpful and customer oriented. Would love to go again, and by far my favorite place to stay in Neuchatel.
The location, amazing, could not have been better. The room beautiful, outstanding! Now, the service.....some minor things, phones not answered, wrong orders delivered, etc. but no biggie. The three biggies: 1. Arrived 2:05 pm, room not ready until 4:00 pm (fine) asked if we could still have brunch (a Sunday) told no it stops at 2:00 pm (the restaurant was still pretty full and all the buffet was still out) 2. Wi-fi...arghh! Spent 90 mins day one trying to get on, said password invalid or too many devices (at this point none). Finally went to reception, got one (of four) devices on. After that, intermittent, would kick us out (again too many devices). Ended up we had two out of four devices intermittent throughout the three nights. 3. Dinner in restaurant. Hum, ignored us for 20 mins, then Maitre’ D brought us menus in German and realised we were British so said he would be back. Twenty minutes later we asked a waiter as still no menus. He must have told Maitre’d as he then came back and gave menus-no recognition or apology of overlooking us. No vegetarian options for main on menu (but they did offer to make a risotto or roasted vegetables), Credit to our waiter who did really try to make up for things and was very pleasant.…
Great location and good bar. Cleanliness on terrace should be improved. Several damaged tiles on the public walkway may lead to guest accident. Must be corrected asap. Concierge/Reception staff friendly. However checkout took a lifetime and we received wrong room folio to check. Not good. Overall it's a nice hotel with friendly staff. However management should be present, focus on the details as well and ensure continuous training and improvement. A good 4 Star hotel.
