This hotel is absolutely beautiful from ceilings to floors. The location is perfect for shopping, transportation, restaurants and the lake. The Funicular is a direct connection to everything and so helpful after an evening out or a day of walking. The views from the beach club were astounding and a great place to wait while our room was being prepared. We were in 518, on the back side with views of a more residential area and garden. The large terrace was gorgeous and a perfectly quiet place for a nap after a day of travel. We invited friends to our terrace for a "Last Night, Best Night" toast and had plenty of room. Breakfast had a large selection to satisfy anyone and the views from the restaurant were no less than breathtaking each morning. It was my birthday and though we were reserved for a regular double we were upgraded and given a bottle of prosecco. The front desk is amazing and very helpful with any questions. We will not hesitate to book this hotel again! So happy we found it.…
They are close proximity to everything- city, train, bus. We enjoyed their breakfast buffet which included made-to-order omelets, an amazing array of teas and coffee options, along with pastries, fresh fruit, and many other option Our waitress was terrific. Our room was clean and spacious with a balcony to sit on overlooking the water and city- heaven. We would choose this hotel again.
WOW! We loved staying here. From the moment we arrived we felt like family. The joy from the folks at the reception desk was contagious. Our room was spacious and with a glorious view of Lake Lucerne. The vernacular to the street level was a welcome addition. We had delicious breakfasts, yet it was the 50th Anniversary Celebration of our friends in the Scala restaurant that was super special. They decorated the table, and made the evening super special with a slice of cake and a memorable celebration. Oh, and the mea; and the service - superb! I can't say enough about how wonderful our evening and two-night stay in the Montana Art Deco Hotel was. If we can, we will definitely be back.
We have a wonderful view of Lake Luzern from our hotel room. Th breakfast buffet was wonderful with ready to order omelets, fruits, and dairy pastries. The Beach Club WBA’s comfortable place with a great vibe to relax with a beverage and small plate food menu. The lovely is located close to bus transportation to the Downtown and easily accessible. The hotel staff was friendly and most helpful.
Beautiful room coupled with excellent service makes the Hotel Montana our top choice in Lucerne,. The Whiskey Bar and the Rum Bar topped off our idyllic vacation in the former Trading town- Lucerne. The Lift on the side of the hill leading to the Hotel offers an intimate entrance. We will be back!
This hotel was really nice and they had great food. Another plus was the phenomenal view from their terrace restaurant. You get an overview of Lake Luzern, the Alps ( including Mt. Pilatus) and the town. Our room had all the modern amenities one could want. It even had a small terrace where we could sit. There was a funicular one takes to get from the lake level to the hotel so you didn't have to climb up to the hotel. It is also right on a city bus line that was super easy to use. We would stay here again!
Our third-floor view looked down on the surrounding area, including the Palace-Casino, and across Lake Lucerne. When the clouds would raise, mountains came into view. We could see a wide perspective of the surrounding area, both inside our room during showers and from the veranda. Dinner was excellent, with outstanding service balancing professional and personal interactions. Our waiter's knowledge of the cuisine and suggested wine pairing were exceptional. The manager walked through twice during our unhurried dinner with another couple to ensure everything met our expectations. Too full for dessert, our waiter provided a complementary chocolate treat at the end of the meal.
We were on a fourth floor room with a terrace and beautiful views of the lake and mountains. This spacious room (410) with ample space to relax is truly a traveler's delight. The breakfast was delicious and the jazz jam session an unexpected bonus. The staff was very attentive. The location is just off the centre - short walk or two bus stops away. After a Viking River cruise this was the best place to cap a remarkable experience. Truly wish we could have stayed longer.
Sadly, we were disappointed here. We stayed in a sixth floor premium room. The room was great with a whirlpool tub in the bathroom and on the balcony. Servicing the room was perfect. The issues were in the public spaces. We had been here in the past and felt very comfortable. This time, it seems that the hotel was set up for large groups like the Viking tour staying there (their desk was larger than the reception desk in the lobby). Breakfast was not set out in the lovely dining room which was being used by a wedding party. The selections had been downgraded since our last stay. Dinner was in a secondary space too and frankly, the service we received at dinner was not what I expect from the Montana. They were too busy with groups and we were neglected. Dinner took forever. Wine glasses were not refilled and courses were not served in a timely manner. Other diners came and went while we waited and waited. Even going to the bar (The Beach Club) was a shared experience with the wedding party who were there celebrating. This was not at all like our past experience.…
