I stayed at the Hotel D'Angleterre in Geneva from September 6 -12, which turned out to be an excellent choice. This luxurious hotel is conveniently located on the edge of Lac Leman and within walking distance of the English garden, Flower Clock, high-end shopping district and the charming Old City with small shops, cafes and restaurants. Because the hotel is small (about 45-48 rooms), you feel you're staying in a luxurious villa rather than a hotel, so it was a nice change in ambiance from that of a large American hotel I was especially impressed with how quiet it was during the evening/night, and I felt as if I were the only guest there. The beautiful room with its super comfortable bed and the modern, large, bathroom provided me an oasis after a long day of sightseeing. The staff at the Reception desk and the Concierge were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay. Argi, one of the staff member in the Reception, was extremely helpful whenever I needed anything. The Concierge assisted me with booking a day tour to Annecy, France, (about 25 miles from Geneva) and provided me with helpful guidance in my sightseeing in Geneva, and was always available to answer my questions. I had the buffet breakfast and lunch at the Windows restaurant at the hotel, which offers excellent gourmet dishes and excellent service. I also ordered continental breakfast with room service, which I would rate just as high. …
This hotel for me is the definition of luxuary. Big rooms comfy beds, amazing shower a TV like a mini cinema all the staff doing everything they can to make the stay special. If I had any complaint it was they tried too hard. I also missed the breakfast because I was hungover but that's my own fault. But it's the best hotel I have ever been hungover I slept like a baby
We were in Switzerland for 2 weeks, and Geneva was our last stop. After the amazing time we had in Luzerne, the Berner Oberland, and Vevey, I was concerned that Geneva might be a a let down. When the staff showed us to our room, all I could say was "Wow." I couldn't believe the view from our room of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). Of all the five star hotels we stayed in during our vacation, the room at Hotel d'Angleterre was the most beautiful and well-appointed (and with the most comfortable bed ever). Service was impeccable from the front desk to the concierge. Not to be missed is the Leopard Lounge - great cocktails, and live music that made you feel you were in France.
Not only was the city extraordinary, but the service and attention to detail at the hotel were outstanding. The breakfast was as good as it gets…everything fresh and delicious. The friendliness of the staff makes one want to return not only to Geneva but also directly to the hotel.
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The service is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. They made everyone feel individual and special. The room was immaculate just like the rest of the hotel. I can’t rate it high enough.
This hotel was the highlight of our family Europe trip this summer! The hotel is incredibly well appointed, has INCREDIBLE views of the Jet d'Eau, Lake Geneva, and Mont Blanc, and its location on Lake Geneva is perfect! It's crown jewel is its incredible, friendly, professional, and caring staff! Throughout our stay, every single staff member was clearly passionate about their job and the hotel they represented, and were committed to ensuring a simply flawless stay for our family! In particular, the concierge went way above and beyond, and in addition to planning trips for us prior to our stay, they were so helpful during our stay. Nicolas went so far as to print out a 19 page menu in English for a restaurant so we could select what to order. All of Nicolas, Marcio, and Head Concierge Emilie's recommendations were perfectly on point, and created such wonderful experiences for our family. Thank you all for your such a perfect experience, and we very much look forward to returning!…
Had an excellent stay here with the family. The staff is making every effort to make you feel at home and cater your every need. We arrived late at night and they had some fruit and snacks ready, and not to forget champagne. After checkout we went for a walk, when we came back the car was parked out front with the luggage in. The rooms are also nice with plenty of room for me and my wife and son.
I am not waiting to write a review until the end of our 3 day visit. This boutique hotel is splendid. How great to stay in an intimate hotel with a spectacular view of the lake. The welcome was over the top, the service is friendly and flawless. Breakfasts are generous and delicious. There are 39 rooms and 6 suites….with Amex platinum you may be fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite which is a real treat. This is our first experience with the Red Carnation chain. With a visit like this, it won’t be our last.
It was perfect. The view, the rooms, everything. The lady from de reception was very nice and always available. All the staff was great. Perfect well located. All the family loved the stay. We will be back.
The service at Hotel d’Angleterre is truly outstanding. Extremely friendly and helpful. Although it was my first time staying here It really did feel like I had been coming for years. Lots of wonderful little touches like the welcome game of Uno for my two daughters, the welcome snacks and drinks. The concierges were extremely helpful in following up with a courier service to ensure an important package was delivered on time. The room was charming and the beds incredibly comfortable. I had one of the best nights sleep I have had in years. The room service food was some of the best I have ever had. You could spend a similar amount on a room at some big five star chains with properties in Gevena but as a boutique hotel you get amazing personal service at the Angleterre.
