Wonderful stay in an inside facing boutique room - extremely calm and quiet despite the bustling (and very convenient) location of the hotel. Customer service is impeccable: I did have a few requests and everything was taken care of immediately. The room was clean and tidy, although the wall in the shower could use a little deep clean. Breakfast service in the room was always punctual, the food was always fresh and the portions were generous. One thing I noticed though - not all dishes on the tray were covered which would be a nice plus in these challenging times. Hotel highly recommended!

Our first time staying in the hotel and far exceeded our expectations. The staff were wonderful and pre anticipated our desires. I have visited the day spa on other occasions and it never disappoints. Brigette leads a team of caring, calm, highly knowledgeable and skilled therapists that effortlessly maintain exceptionally high standards ! It’s Wonderful that all products used are natural and non toxic, I don’t know of any other 5 star hotel that could boast this. Our treatment was given this time by Sonja - it was everything we needed. Forgive me for not remembering the name of our female table service (excellence) for the breakfast. She has served us before and is truly an asset to the Jack’s Brasserie. The venue itself is unbelievably beautiful; the decoration has melded the nostalgia and elegance of Bern impeccably. Thank you for the overall positive experience. We will return.

Firstly I have to say that this is a truly Beautiful Hotel in a fantastic location in Bern especially if you arriving by Train as you just walk out of the Station and you are there. Our Room 309 was large, gorgeous, generous in appointments and it was a Joy to be there. I loved the Nespresso machine and this made me really smile as everyday the water was topped up freshly in the machine- petty and minor and not expected but this is the level of attention placed by the Housekeeping staff who were all really Friendly. I pondered a lot over the 3 days of our stay and cooled off a bit but still feel that our Checkin Experience was insulting and my Husband and I did feel offended. We are clean, well educated, soft spoken and always friendly as per the typical Australian way. I am Caucasian and my Husband Chinese and I know this isn’t necessary to say but for some reason the Checkin Person didn’t like us. He proceeded to insist that our Booking which was fully paid for through a well known Booking Site was for a lower Grade Room. I had screenshot our confirmation to make it easier on my iPhone in case of no wifi and I quietly and politely showed him the Room Type that was confirmed. In front of everyone there he flicked his hand and said he had no proof that I hadn’t photoshopped my screenshot. So I hotspotted my Husband’s wifi and logged into the full website and showed him the original Booking. He was huffy and went off to “speak to my Boss” and came back and said “ system problem” and that he would “upgrade us” to unbelievably the actual Room grade that had already paid for!!! No apologies for his humiliating us in public and he seemed to expect us to be Grateful??? My Husband being older than me had waited quietly watching and this Person again flicked his hand and said “are you right with your luggage “ but didn’t wait for an answer. We are NOT Precious but we had just come from the gorgeous Hotel cour deCourbou in Strasbourg where our luggage was whisked away before we could even think about it. So we were dismissed from Reception… We got up to our absolutely lovely Room and decided to go for a walk as I just couldn’t fathom what had happened and needed a clear head to think objectively. I found myself making excuses for this person- language or cultural differences or having a bad day? Mistakes happen and we are Human and I almost let it all go until later we watched him proffering and gushing over two lots of American Couples and totally invisible to a Couple checking in of another Nationality. I will not call it what it looked like but… I would like to finish this Review on a positive note and we would absolutely stay here again and more than happy to recommend it. The Staff in the Breakfast Room were so lovely, the Breakfast on each of our 3 mornings was delicious and very high quality. I als give a Shout out to Lisa in Reception who was on a different shift who was SO lovely and helpful and set us up with free travel tickets for the trams which is available through an app provided by the hotel. She was surprised we weren’t given this at Check in. So rather than let a bad apple spoil a whole Bunch I really do confirm that this Hotel is more Beautiful than its website and the Room number 309 was perfect in every way.
