Close to all activities, yet still in a quiet location. Large enough with all the necessary amenities and with friendly service. Ideal hotel for both business and holiday travellers at a fair price.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel is in a place just a block away from the bus stop. It is extremely clean and everything was high quality such as sheets and towels. The breakfast offering was abundant with a nice variety of breads, breakfast meats, salmon, cereals, cheeses and fruit. The WiFi connected the first time and worked flawlessly the whole time. I will definitely come back here in a few days. Also, the two ladies that checked me in and out were kind and very helpful in giving me information. Very safe area and walking distance to a variety of restaurants. I love it!

I have been using Hotel Waldhorn for once-monthly overnight stays for about 4 years. I love the quiet, modern, unfussy and ultraclean rooms, the friendly staff, and the easy access from the station by tram 9, less than 10 minutes away. The only issue is the music played in the dining room at breakfast, which is unnecessary and bothersome. That aside, I highly recommend this nice unpretentious hotel.

This is a comfortable hotel located close to the main attractions in Bern. The commute to the hotel via local transportation is very convenient. The staff was very helpful and considerate. They went the extra mile in ensuring various asks. Rooms are a bit small but for short stays, the ambience and the location makes up for it.

Let's start with the good part: very friendly stuff.
Hotel room is very small and smells very old and humid. Breakfast has no warm buffet like omelets, bacon, sausages. Only 3 type of ham , some musli, croisant, terrible coffee.
For this price you can go to Zermatt and have a nice new 3 star spa hotel with multiple breakfast options. It's simply stealing to ask for so much money for that nothing.

I stayed at the Hotel Waldhorn for two nights. The single room is rather small, but everything is new with a modern TV and shower. It is possible to do check-in and check-out online. Breakfast is ok, so is the parking lot. Straightforward and simple

Very friendly staff, comfortable room with all you need and delicious breakfast with a choice. I like the location as it is in a quiet place but close to the oldtown and easy to reach from the main station. Fast check-in/check-out (online). Free water, coffee and tea.

Unbelievable the treatment received...
I am traveling with my sun around Europe. My daughter did the booking on our behalf, since we were traveling with our motorcycles. She did the booking online using booking, and as per the payment conditions specified in booking, she handled a credit card number supposedly only as guarantee, it was clearly stated that nothing would be charged to that card unless if there was a no-show or cancellation, and that the room would be paid at check-out.
Even before arrival to the hotel, the hotel had already charged one night to my daughter's card (against the policies of the booking) and when we arrived at the front desk and requested an explanation, the lady that said was the owner of the hotel, or the manager, told us literally "Spanish, Italian and Chinese Tourist don't pay their accounts, so we have to make sure you will not leave without paying". UNBELIVABLE... I REPEAT... SPANISH, CHINESE AND ITALIAN DON'T PAY THEIR ACCOUNTS....
There are not enough words to express how disappointed we are with this treatment, the fact that they proceed against the rules, that they treat us so unbelivably in a racist way with this comment, and how they did not returned the money to my daughter's account until we paid...at check-out. They have not idea of my economic situation, potential, etc. thus, they MUST NOT judge clients this way. We felt extremely bad treated. Incredible...
I definitely would not recommend this place, and I suggest booking to consider their relationship with them, as well as some type of punishment to make sure they follow the states rules from now on. less that we expect form this place, is an apology. If you are Italian, spanish or Chinese, consider not choosing this hotel, otherwise you will be prejudge.

Stayed 2 nights - from Bern central station, we took tram 9 (direction - Wankdorf) to Spitalacker stop - about 10-15 mins away. 2 min walk to hotel - helpful & friendly staff. Complimentary tea, coffee and fruit at the reception area. Good sized room with twin beds, big closet area. Spacious (newer) bathroom, ample space for toiletries. Breakfast included - good choices (bread, meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, eggs, juices, coffee, tea). Free Bern travel card provided by hotel... very convenient for getting around the city! Grocery stores nearby. Hotel is 3 tram stops to the Old Town.
Would stay here again!

I spent 4 nights here. The room was small but very cosy and clean. I was able to regulate the heater which was great. Bed was comfortable . I didn’t like the plastic sheet on the base though but I just removed it, nor the nylon bedsheet- I slept in between two duvets which was lovely.
Bath towel was good long length.
Staff very helpful and polite. Fresh fruit and coffee freely available for guests in the reception.

This hotel truly deserves all those positive Reviews on TripAdvisor!
1. Renovated building, renovated rooms (I was in 101, single room). Although it is more of a basic hotel, furniture and Features were of a higher standard. The room looked fresh and was comfortable. Everything was in working order, WIFI was reliably good.
2. Staff was very accomodating. The lady at check-in and check-out was most welcoming and helpful. When asking for a store nearby she offered me to lend a plastic bag for not having to buy one at the store. A very much customer-oriented attitude I would not expect anywhere.
3. Location is an urban setting, quiet, with restaurants around the corner, an arthouse cinema, some shops and a tram stop, all in vicinity.
In my view, this hotel is "thoughtful" towards ist guests and cares for a comfortable stay.
I was deeply impressed.
