There is no check-in desk or machine at the hotel. When we arrived, we saw a sign saying to go back to some other hotel to check-in. We had to walk back to a different hotel to check-in. Totally nonsense. At least, they should have warned us beforehand. I have sent two emails before our arrival as well and nobody ever answered. Terrible assistance. The hotel seemed to be very badly taken care of. Like abandoned. The bathroom was dirty and with a very bad smell. Extremely expensive for what is offered. Very very disappointed, especially being in Switzerland. Not in the Swiss standards at all. I have chosen easyhotel because I have stayed before in other cities and it was great. But now, never again.
Start with a positive Good location next to the Messe and near the tram stop. However... I knew it was “self-check-in” but didn’t realise that meant fumbling for my passport details and my wallet while stood in the dark on the street corner. Surprised no local criminals have worked this out yet. That one fact alone should mean no-one should ever stay there. Room was basic which was what I would have expected. Clean but sink blocked. Venue were happy to take the City Tax but didn’t give me my Basel Card so I had to pay for the tram back to the station in the morning. Avoid.
The hotel comes with a reception being alive only along the day, later it is registration via maschine. Saves money, but lacks of character. Roomis big enough and orange yellow and those who have good memory on the cheap flight chap with the name alike may come along with that orange. I did'nt. So ok for small budet, but for business travel?
Stayed in this hotel for two nights as it’s next too the convention centre. Small room no air conditioner and it’s not cheap Desk but no chair Only two plug sockets in whole room Can’t recharge phone and watch tv at same time Don’t stay here
The room was clean but the shower room was very compact. The bed had one very flat pillow and a clean towel but that is al that can really be said positively. Beware the ‘green lamp (red light) district which isn’t too far away if you take the wrong turn. Very pleased to be home after a three day stay for a nearby conference .
Clean, fresh, safe, quiet, very basic. No lift. No wardrobe space, a couple of hooks with 2 hangers and a small bedside table. Bags need to be on the floor. Only German TV, all programmes dubbed, without subtitles. Easy access to transport, #2 tram stops outside SBB (train station Swiss side), 10 min ride. 20 min walk to old town.
Very german of it (since in the german canton), small and spartan but with all the basics. Just dont forget to bring an adaptor, the EU plugs wont fit in swiss sockets and they charge 10Fr to rent one. The room was very small and the bathroom was literally a closet inserted in the room, reminded me of a ferryboat cabin (plastic bathroom). Good value for a quick stop in the overexpensive Swizterland. Public parking on the street available, charges apply (1 euro per hour, probably with a 2 or 3 hour limit tagsüber, free in the night)
Stayed here for two nights back in September. This is a budget hotel located a little way from the main station in Basel which although is still in walking distance, you may find you are better off taking a tram if you are carrying luggage. The hotel is located on the corner in a relatively old building. There is a restaurant and the reception on the ground floor. A staircase takes you to the rooms on the upper floors. There is no lift in this hotel. We had a standard room with a window. For the price paid, we felt we could not grumble as this hotel was significantly cheaper than a lot of others. The room was fairly small and the pillows were thin but the bed was relatively ok. There was also virtually no hanging space or drawer space to put anything and very basic furniture in the room. There was a TV but no air con so there was an electric fan instead. The bathroom was very small as expected and like an orange space pod but it did the job very nicely and towels were provided. We also did not have a maid service either throughout our stay. The most important thing though was that the room was clean and felt safe and the surrounding neighbourhood felt fine as well. Reception staff were also very friendly and helpful If you are looking for basic budget accommodation for short stays then you should be fine with this place. Otherwise, you may be better off spending more money and looking elsewhere…
Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff. There's no parking so you have to pay to park on the street during the day, but is free from 6pm to 7am (if you are lucky enough to find a space). Our room had window and bathroom (cabin) inside. Positive: the hotel provides a courtesy public transport travel card and the tram stop is in front of the hotel.
Clean no frills room. Nice friendly helpful staff. Pay for parking on street from 0700-1800 there is also underground parking a couple of streets away. The hotel also provides a courtesy public transport travel card and the tram stop is right outside the hotel.
