The German station is only a short tram ride away. housekeeping very good and all staff very kind.IT 10 minutes to city and all places of interest are nearby. Dear Trevor Many thanks for your visit at the Euler as well as for your nice review. Great to read that you liked the hotel and its location. Indeed, food and drinks are in Switzerland rather on the high side. There is however a huge variety of shops, bakeries etc in our neighbourhood as you mention in your comment. We...

The Euler is an ideal place to stay when visiting Basel. Although it is not in the very centre of the city, it is no more than 10 minutes away, with all the trams you need stopping literally at the door. (The hotel gives you a Mobility Card, which allows you to use all the trams and buses in the...

Want to pay about 18 euros at the bar for one vodka red bull? If you are still reading then this hotel can rip you off but if you are clever, eat locally and there are many options, you will be OK. Rooms are very clean, beds super comfy and firm. All very clean. Location is not great. The surrounding...

Dear Cimmy Many thanks for your visit at the Grandhotel Euler as well as for your high score. When reading through your review, it sounds like the Euler was not quite your cup of tea. Which is absolutely fine. Since Basel is not huge, the area "where Basel happens" is about 10 minutes walk. Just to clarify for the tripadvisor...

Stayed three nights at the hotel during Xmas (as part of a group) and prolonged one night. Warning: when reserving the single night, the hotel quoted a higher price than on-line site for the same stay (despite knowing I would prolong stay) !! Room 407 very warm, not possible to turn down, somewhat disturbed by the tram traffic. Only on...

Dear Sir Many thanks for staying with us during Christmas as well as for your review. My apologies for the warm room. All other suggestions are well noted too. Regarding your room rate, our research shows that you saved 30 CHF as you booked your extention pretty much in advance. Thus, the room rate on the same day was 30...

Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Hotel Euler. Only two negatives to point out at the start- Parking- if you are going to park at the hotel, it is valet only. The turn to get in front of the hotel though can be a bit overwhelming because the area in front of the hotel is a train station and...

Dear Amanda Many thanks for choosing the Euler for you visit in Basel as well as for your nice review. Location is terrific. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice little extras like good coffee available at no extra cost, and fruit. Breakfast isn't cheap, but plentiful and good.room was not large, but wardrobe and space for suitcases was separate. Bathroom spacious and up- to date. They sent a welcoming email before we arrived with information about arrival etc.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Euler was built in 1867 by Abraham Euler and is one of the earliest tributes to high-end hospitality in Europe. Since 1981 it has belonged to the Manz Family. This elegant four stars superior hotel was completely refurbished in May 2008 in a modern style, still keeping the traditional elegance of a grand hotel. It has 66 rooms, 6 of which are junior suites. All rooms offer the highest in comfort and modern technology and combine modernity with tradition and design. The Euler restaurant and bars combine seasonal specialities with classic traditional dishes and cater to all needs, from a hearty breakfast to a fast business lunch to a cosy candle light dinner. In the summer time the Euler Terrace is one of Basel’s main meeting points, for a quick coffee or an aperitif. A Starbucks coffee shop on premises completes the food and beverage offer. ... more   less
