I had to come/go by train and was only there one day, so wanted a hotel within walking distance. This was a perfect choice as it is within a block. The hotel was very comfortable, and they gave me the type of room I requested which I always appreciate (some hotels ignore requests)--one not overlooking the main street for quiet... More

It is just want I needed: close to the train station, helpful staff, quiet room, and excellent facility. If you book through booking.com, the breakfast is about CHF 20-21. Because Switzerland is expensive, a CHF 20 buffet breakfast is very reasonable... it even serves smoked salmon.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a river cruise. This hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the main train station and many trams stopped right in front. We were able to take a free bus to the airport which left right in front of the train station. This is a grand old hotel... More

We were so pleased that the Hotel Euler was right outside the train station since we were dragging 50 pounds of luggage! Great surprise to be given a room upgrade when we arrived and our room was READY! On the bed was a pillow menu so that we would have just the right pillow. Looking out our window we had... More

Prior to our River Rhine cruise, a night at the Euler was perfect! And the restaurant Gaspar was excellent. Perhaps the best Veal and Rosti we have had in years! Walking around Basel was easy and a walk to the Rhine River verified news of the floods.

The rooms are small and the bathrooms very small - one person at a time. The duvets are largely polyester and can be sweaty at night. The breakfast room is also small and can feel very crowded in the morning (we were there during Art Basel). The buffet is cleared on the dot at 10.30am- so don't be late for... More

The hotel was conveniently situated about 10 minutes walk from the centre near the station. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything i needed. I had a good breakfast and the bar/lobby area was good for a relaxed atmosphere with live piano. Staff overall were so helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here... More

As the wife and I were on a budget whilst traveling through Europe, the service we received at Hotel Euler was absolutely fantastic. We were actually staying at The City Inn Apartments which are a cheaper part of this Hotel but as luck would have it we received a significant up-grade that made this stop in Basel very special. Hotel... More

Really nice hotel in a fantastic central location. Room was great and staff extremely accommodating and helpful. Only used the restaurant for breakfast but again very good. Would recommend this hotel highly.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Euler was built in 1867 by Abraham Euler and is one of the earliest tributes to high-end hospitality in Europe. Since 1981 it has belonged to the Manz Family. This elegant four stars superior hotel was completely refurbished in May 2008 in a modern style, still keeping the traditional elegance of a grand hotel. It has 66 rooms, 6 of which are junior suites. All rooms offer the highest in comfort and modern technology and combine modernity with tradition and design. The Euler restaurant and bars combine seasonal specialities with classic traditional dishes and cater to all needs, from a hearty breakfast to a fast business lunch to a cosy candle light dinner. In the summer time the Euler Terrace is one of Basel’s main meeting points, for a quick coffee or an aperitif. A Starbucks coffee shop on premises completes the food and beverage offer. ... more   less
