Wonderful and gracious hosts with great suggestions for the surrounding area. Nice clean rooms with beautiful views. Breakfast was simple but delicious, including yummy homemade jam and yogurt! It is very off the beaten path and the drive there can be scary, up a typical narrow, winding, and steep road with massive pot holes - it's also a 20 minute...

This was our second stay with Letizia. this time we felt like we were going to visit as friend. Letizia is warm, inviting, a 1st class host and B&B owner, and an incredible cook!! Her breakfasts include warm, fresh from the oven bread, fine cheese, homemade jams(the wild cherry is incredible), cereals and other treats. All made by her with...

Spent a lovely day with a group of friends learning about Letizia's philosophy of food. Wise words about the quality of ingredients, and the value of preparing seasonal local dishes. The guidance was constructive and clear. We came away enthused and keen to try out our new pasta-making skills - we did so and it was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting...

We met Letezia and Ruurd last year at their excellent cooking class and resolved then to return to Umbria and stay with them. We took another amazing cooking class during our stay, and loved the peace and quiet of their establishment. All details were attended to very well indeed. The location afforded easy access to the many wonders of Umbria....

This is a cooking school. We had the pleasure of learning about and participating in Italian cooking with Letizia, the Lady of the Plate (Madonna de la Piatta). First we drove way above Assisi (Google Maps got us there) and met Letizia and immediately felt welcomed. We sat on the covered terrace with a view of the mountains, valleys, and...

We didn't stay at the B&B but would love to in the future. We took a cooking class with Letizia and enjoyed every minute of it. She has such a passion for cooking, quality ingredients and making traditional recipes work in a modern world. Since I've been home, I have made several of her recipes and they've been delicious. She...

We had two beautiful days in this charming and very unique farm home. The hosts were warm and welcoming and helpful, They gave us fantastic advice on making the most of our stay, from travel to restaurants, which was invaluable. The rooms are all very individual and you feel how personal the whole project has been for them. The setting,...

I am a regular visitor to Alla Madonna del Piatto and last year, I chose to go in October to coincide with the olive harvest. It was a truly wonderful experience. September and October are splendid months to visit Assisi; the colours of Autumn are at the height of their glory and a soft light illuminates the mountains surrounding the...

We are visiting this agriturismo annually to enjoy the view of Assisi, to relax in a very quiet ambiance, hear the birds, smell the flowers and talk to the owners Letizia and Ruurd. This time - mid May - it was rather cold, but excellent for walks

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our home, a renovated farmhouse, is a small eco-friendly B&B near Assisi, in Umbria. The centuries-old stone house overlooks the beautiful town of Assisi. All rooms have a magnificent view of Assisi's world famous basilica, dedicated to St. Francis and housing some of Italy's most important art treasures. Our agriturismo is a quiet oasis both day and night, an ideal spot to unwind. You will awake every morning to the sights of the rolling Umbrian hills and the medieval town of Assisi perched on the Subasio mountain. You can linger for hours watching the sheep graze in the fields, sunbathe on the terracotta-paved terrace or sip a glass of wine under the grapevine arbor. If, on the other hand, you can tear yourself away from the garden and its panorama, our bed and breakfast is conveniently located to explore Umbria's beautiful medieval hill towns. Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto and Perugia, as well as Tuscany's splendid Renaissance city Siena, Cortona and the Chianti wine region are all within about an hour's drive. If you enjoy walking, the Subasio natural park and the Franciscan Path of Peace and woodllands are only minutes away. ... more   less
