Hard to describe the beauty, honesty, peacefulness, and purity of this place. The views are breathtaking and beyond words. Nestled high on an Umbrian hillside among olive groves, this lovingly renovated 1,000 year old farmhouse serves some of the finest, and fairest priced, food I've ever eaten anywhere at any price. Everything is made on site: the flour, the olive... More

I was part of a wedding celebration at le Mandrie and stayed for five nights at the wonderfully situated agriturismo - with a great view of the valley. The food was excellent, as was the wine, and Alex and his staff were impeccable In all their activities. Alex's enthusiasm for his ecological and sustainable way of running the family business... The Farm Home “Le Mandrie di Sao Paulo” is located in the hills of Parco del Monte Subasio in a small place San Vitale. It is situated at the very end of the Via Fonte L’abate and reachable by a steep narrow road. (If you rent a car for this trip I advise you to rent a powerful one) From... More

We just arrived yesterday and we feel very happy we choosed this location; LE MANDRIE DI SAN PAOLO in San Vitale near Assisi. The welcome by John and the owner Alessandro was heart-warming. The appartment nr 3 upstairs has a great view and is very comfortable. It has a kitchenette also. The breakfast is delicious and our dinner - one... More

OK? I didn’t know what to expect, but I surely didn’t expect this. Having booked through the internet, we drove from Firenze to the guesthouse and were surprised that it was a ‘long and winding road’ (as the Fab Four used to sing) before we arrived at the place to be. It was one big surprise. The view was astonishing.... More

I want to give this place five stars, but I can’t. Unfortunately, and unbeknownst to us, we arrived for a weekend in the middle of their local medieval festival and the hotel restaurant, which is very popular with the locals, was right under our room. We could not sleep through the noise. The first night was particularly bad, not experiencing... More

This is a beautiful, working Agriturismo, surrounded by olive farms, in the hills overlooking Assisi. The room we stayed in was very large and clear, with gorgeous views of the area. The owners were kind and helpful when we needed things. On the weekends, Le Mandrie operates its own restaurant. Everything is locally sourced from their farm or nearby which... More

Yes the scenery, history & geographical location of LeMandrie are spectacular. To experience the love, the commitment, the lifestyle of a family and staff devoted to providing pilgrims with ingredients for an experience that touches all senses plus one; words in print just can not adequately convey. One must visit here and and witness the grandeur, the spirit of Mt.... More

Stayed here three nights while visiting nearby Assisi. This is a working organic olive farm and the hosts were friendly and the kitchen incredibly good. Highly recommended. You need a car to get here, but could hike to Assisi or nearby Spello easily. Great views from the patio. Very quiet, but popular with the locals.

We had a wonderful time at Le Mandrie di San Paolo. The combination of the lovely people who run and work at this agriturismo, fine accommodations, delicious food, and beautiful location made this one of our most memorable experiences in Italy. The hosts and staff are warm and welcoming and eager to help in any way. My grand daughter, who... More
