If you want to vacation in Tuscany, stop looking and book this place now. Disregard anything negative you may have heard or read online--it's bogus. I have zero doubt that after your stay here, you will look back fondly on the experience forever. If you do not, then I get

Thank you for your fantastic and detailed review. Happy to hear your stay was such a memorable part of your holiday. We especially appreciated your words about the castle itself and its special atmosphere,.in fact the castle walls themselves want to thank you because with your stay here you actually contributed to the preservation of this precious piece of the Tuscan historical heritage. Hoping to have you stay with us here again some time in the future.

I was there with my wife and we stayed in the tower room. This is a 13th century castle. Our room was in one of the corner turrets. Everything was modern but the ambiance of the place was off the charts. It is out of town a little bit but it is only a 7 minute walk, all downhill

Well, it is possible if you are fairly fit as the castle is located about 2km from Siena's city walls ..the castle was built in the 13th century as a defence outpost within signaling distance of the town! The first kilometre or so is along a narrow but fairly busy country road which then over a modern overpass comes into the outskirts of Siena where there are shops, bars, a restaurant and also a bus stop where it is possible to get a little minibus right up into the heart of the old city ( saves walking up a rather steep hill!).
