Sienna is a classic Tuscan town, where real people live and work, and the ancient Palio horse races continue to this day. Easily visited by train from Florence; worth a 1/2 day to walk the piazza, visit the local shops, people watch, learn about the history of the Palio. Many of the locals eat lunch, chat, sit in the sun... More

I keep coming back here. Every time I come something is happening! It is exciting and different. Steeped in history and if you happen to turn up for the Palio it is fantastic. Just sitting and watching everyone in the main piazza and walking around the old cobbled streets is wonderful. I will be back!

Piazza del Campo is one of a kind. My second time there because I felt in love with this place as the hole city. Unbelievable place to see and feel. It's pure magic. Please...seat and take your time and a good italian gelatto . Energise yourself here. The image will stay with you forever !
