We had a great 2 night stay here in a deluxe room with view. Our room had a nice view over the rooftops of Siena to the Duomo, and had an elaborately painted ceiling. Our room looked nicer than the pictures on their website would suggest. We were on the first floor, which also has the beautiful salon pictured on their web page, which was open for guests to use. The location was great, allowing us to easily walk wherever we wanted, on largely pedestrian streets. The service was consistently excellent and friendly.
The staff, location, and views can't be beat. Rooms are beautifully appointed. The Concierge and front desk staff make you feel like family - professional and personable. We were greeted by name each day. Their restaurant recommendations were fantastic. Upon arrival, we said we would grab lunch in the hotel. They politely said they could make a nearby reservation. We didn't get the hint, and had an underwhelming lunch in their dining room. Acceptable, not great. Having had other meals in Siena, we should have allowed them to book us a table nearby. Breakfast in the hotel is fantastic. Be sure to visit the cellar with Gianluca. The beds are comfortable. Laundry service did a beautiful job. The location, elegance, and friendly and professional staff make staying here a treat. …
This is not only a wonderfully restored hotel in a perfect location. Our room had a perfect view of the old town all the way up to the Duomo. Most notable is the staff! Extremely attentive to any wish, nice, friendly and helpful. Really rarely seen in a place like this. It gave the stay a very special note and made our stay very memorable and comfortable. Very much appreciated!!
This hotel is the only “five star hotel” in Siena. It is a very beautiful historic hotel. Unfortunately, the guest rooms are small and very old. Our room had almost zero luggage space, there were three concrete stairs down to the bathroom, and the bathroom smelled like raw sewage constantly during our three day stay. The service was vey good but they were understaffed. The food was average to good but very expensive.
Beautiful heritage building. Stunningly well placed in the historical center, accessible by car. Kind and efficient staff. Amazing breakfast buffet. Breakfast staff though not very present..Rooms are a bit out timed and small. Too expensive for what it offers.
Had lunch twice and on both occasions food was exquisite. We didn’t stay here as too many people reviewed this place as overpriced and outdated which is true regarding the property. The food and drinks are very good. The wine selection is one of the best I’ve seen. I loved one of the wines so much I bought a second bottle for take away at a small discount which was a great touch. To be fair most hotels in Italy have overpriced rooms that are falling apart so we always try to spend as little as possible for accommodation.
Wow! Beautiful setting in the best location in Siena. Rooms are beautiful and the staff is excellent! They call you by name when they see you and anticipate your needs. The included breakfast fantastic and more than anyone would need in the morning. We highly recommend this fabulous boutique hotel.
This is one of the most beautiful and special hotels in Italy. They took a grand 17th century palazzo and converted it into a hotel with as much care, intelligence and refined taste as could possibly be imagined. Antiques in rooms. Some rooms with ceiling frescos, terra cotta floors, while at the same time the rooms contain all the comforts you would want. Flawless service, and the staff is made up of genuinely nice people. I had a Noble Junior Suite. Incredibly comfortable, spacious, wonderful bed. Silent. Extremely high ceiling with fresco. Nice to have the Illy Café machine in the room. Excellent breakfast buffet in charming ground floor rooms. For my taste, I was constantly amazed how details of the old palazzo were maintained in the conversion, and yet every convenience you would want was there. For people who prefer modern looking hotels, this is not one of them. But you might want to stay here anyway, because it is so comfortable, so well managed, and it absolutely has the best location in Siena, right smack on the best block of the best street in town. Right in the middle of everything. I have stayed in so many beautiful hotels in Italy, and this is one of the best and most special. I will absolutely return. Thank you to the wonderful, kind staff!…
Super friendly staff, top location, luxurious room. The interior space is indeed grand. The breakfast food and setting were excellent. The food in the restaurant is excellent. We had a perfect lunch and dinner. Our lovely room opened out onto the main street in Sienna and unfortunately, the noise from the street was disturbing into the wee hour.
Some reviews say the rooms are outdated and that's true, but this hotel is BEAUTIFUL and the rooms are very spacious and quaint. Our room windows opened to the beautiful Siena roofline. The location was excellent. Getting there with a car is challenging. All the concierge were amazing and super helpful.
