An awesome experience! Highly recommend this - we had basically no riding experience but it was not a problem. A great way to experience the Tuscan countryside. Small groups, really well priced and good for kids too - our son is 11 and had never been on a horse before.

Dinner at this farm with a tremendous panoramic view of San Gimignano was a delightful experience for our family! You are immersed in the food and wine of Tirtziana, the hostess, and her family. Dining is at a long table with other guests and even though we are not usually big on that, it was great. Tirtziana entertains with her... More

Stayed here for four nights in May. Accommodation was basic. Ensuite very small, when using toilet feet were in the shower. Staff could not be more helpful. Meals were home style and delicious. If Wi-Fi is important to you connection is very poor.

My sister, my niece and I stayed at Il Vecchio Maneggio for three nights in May, 2016. I highly recommend it as a base for anyone traveling in the area of San Gimignano. Our rooms were perfect for us, extremely clean and comfortable with lovely views out on the countryside. Service from all the staff was excellent. The food at... More

We arrived Il Vecchio Maneggio in the late afternoon, we were warmly welcomed with a glass of wine by the friendly staff. The place looks amazingly beautiful and it is so much peaceful. We loved the idea of getting everyone connected, whoever stays at the residence. There was plenty of food available at the meal time and it was such... More

Although we stayed in the adjacent venue, we came here for our breakfast on three mornings and received outstanding food and service. I would be remiss to forget the outstanding service we received from Simone (with the horses) and Elise in the house. Elise sent our sobbing daughter on her way to ensure she had a chance to sit on... More

Came here for a stop on a tour with Fun in Tuscany (amazing tour) got to try the honey, it was amazing. They made us a lovely cappuccino as well, great stop and loved learning about the honey! This is just such a cute little place and gives you a great idea of life in Tuscany!

I don't even know where to begin in listing all of the reasons we loved this place. It was the absolute best time in Tuscany. Tiziana and all of her staff are amazing. They make it feel like you are staying at your Italian Nonna's house.. the rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the people are wonderful….and then there is... More

The calm, welcome feeling is there from the minute you walk in. Good driving distance from Florence, Sienna, and San Gimignano, but away from the rush of the city. Horses are gentle. Food is INCREDIBLE! (wine included). We are glad this was our last stop (we went to Florence, Bellagio, Cinque Terre first), because we would have been disappointed if... More

We were a group of 10 who stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were clean and average sized. The pros: Beautiful location near San Gimignano, breakfasts were very nice with lots of variety, the caretaker was a funny character, and the house has lots of charm. The cons: the owners smoke cigarettes throughout the day IN THE KITCHEN resulting... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This charming typical farmhouse, whose name could not be different from "Il Vecchio Maneggio" (the old Horseback Riding Centre), set on top of a hill, enjoys lovely views over the Tuscan countryside. The Pieraccini family, the owners of this organic farm, have always lived here, working the land, rearing horses and keeping bees. The old farmhouse, which has been recently restored retaining the original features of this typical Tuscan country house, today can accommodate guests in the family-run agriturismo "Il Vecchio maneggio," which offers 5 comfortable rooms; the fully equipped kitchen where Tiziana, an experienced and excellent cook, transforms the farm products and other local specialties into delicious meals, served in the large dining room whose patio doors enjoys lovely views of the medieval town of San Gimignano and of the surrounding countryside. Guests are free to discover the activities and the daily life at the farm such as harvesting, picking the olives, extracting honey, feeding horses and other animals of the farm. ... more   less
