A nice enough place for a short stay, but not sure why it's the #1 favorite in Pisa. Located on the corner of a busy commercial street and a quiet residential street, it is handy to the train station and not far from the airport. The duomo and the Leaning Tower are a bit of a hike if you're walking,...

This hotel was a lovely place to catch our breath and beat the initial jet lag. Pisa wasn't originally on our Italy itinerary, but the airfare was so much cheaper than Florence that we decided to stop here first and see the handful of sights before continuing on our trip. We arrived much earlier than check-in, but were greeted warmly...

Stayed here only for a night, but it was clean spacious and the location was fabulous. Was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. Definitely worth the price. Breakfast was great. Overall a wonderful experience

We were looking for a place centrally located in Pisa (in walking distance from the tower), with free parking, and reasonably priced. This hotel certainly fit the bill, and we were very pleased with our choice for our 1-day stay. The hotel was nicely adorned and came with a decent "continental-style" breakfast included in the booking price. The bed was...

We had a one night stay at the Hotel Alessandro della Spina in late March 2009. We arrived by train into Pisa Central and the hotel is about a 5 minute walk away. This was our first trip to Pisa and to Italy. I had orginally booked into another hotel closer to the railway station was put off by bad...

We have just stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Alessandro della Spina in Pisa. The hotel is only small but very clean and friendly. The room we stayed in was charming, reasonable size with a modern bathroom. Breakfasts were rather sparce so would not recommend if you want the full English. There was cereal, yoghurt, cold meat cheese and croissants,...

I just spent a week at Della Spina with a friend. We chose it as the base for exploring Pisa, Lucca and Florence. It is an excellent little place, great value for money! We enjoyed it right from the reception by Chiara who helped us with a LOT of information and told us where and when and how to go....

Just spent one night at the Allesandro Della Spina. Was a bit worried about it only being a 3* but was pleasantly suprised. Our ground floor room was small but very clean, comfortable and had recently been refurbished. Bathroom was lovely, with powerful shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. They recommended a lovely restaurant within walking distance and rang...

I looked at all the positive reviews and thought this would be a great hotel. It's OK, the room was reasonably small but a good sized bathroom with good fixtures. Location is good for the train station and airport. Also free use of the carpark was good. Main problem is the walls are very thin. I could hear someone snoring...

Have no experience of other Pisa hotels but this rating does make one wonder about the TA rating system. Stayed here for one night and it was ok but no more. Nothing much wrong with it but not great either. Avoid room 111 , it's right next to reception and when the printer is chuntering away it can be heard...
