The hotel is like staying in a museum, in the style of a Victorian gentlemen's club. Very grand in its time. They were refurbing the front of the hotel when we stayed, so probably wasn't looking at its best. We were in a superior room on the 2nd floor facing the river. It was very clasically furnished with big ornate... More

A lovely place - beautiful historic building and really central - we walked there from the bus stop where the airport bus dropped us and beautiful location - on the banks of the river - I'd asked for a quiet room and we never heard a squeak all night - our room overlooked an interior patio - My friend prefers... My wife and I stayed for one night in September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Victoria. Certainly, it is a period piece, but it had everything one should need in a hotel and it was fascinating just to wander round and admire the photos and prints, the corridors and terraces and some of the public areas. Imagine,... More

This is not a five star hotel but is a charming hotel in a beautiful, historic old building. The price is very reasonable and the breakfast is nice. There is a roof terrace and you can order a bottle of white and enjoy the sunset. The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. They provided us with an area... More

My family & I have just returned from staying here. The hotel itself is of historical interest with many old photographs & antiques. All the staff are friendly & the breakfast is good . However, our rooms were shabby & in the bathroom the shower overflowed all over the floor. The noise outside the hotel at night was unbelievable...people yelling... More

I'm English, been staying at hotels for 30 odd years, easily pleased (as we British are), never once complained about a hotel before BUT please, please don't waste your hard-earned cash here. It's large, cold and more than well overdue a refurbishment. The corridors and landings are huge and noisey without a carpet or curtain in sight anywhere, every door... More

2 couples were relocated from Santa Croce, according to SC staff the Royal was better. Hmmmmm. Next to the river and a heavy trafficked street, windowshutters did not open, or close, withouth problems, luckily the two of us who stayed 2nd floor did not hear street noise much. High-ceilinged rooms, pre-war II furniture, we did not try the ventilation under... More

We stayed only one night and were very disappointed. The room was very basic, bathroom very small, air condition made such a noise that we couldn´t sleep. Besides the shower started to overflow so that the bathroom floor was full of water! Breakfast was OK, but the staff very slow. And the Tower and Duomo were not near the hotel.... More

This is a great hotel. Located centrally in Pisa it retains an old world feel that is missing from modern hotels. The building is amazing and the interior design makes you feel as though you have been sent back in time (in a good way) The service was great and breakfast was as good as you would expect in Italy.... 5 of us stayed at the Royal Victoria for 3 nights. The reception and common rooms (lots of them) are stunning, they are very traditional with beautiful antique furniture, high ceilings, original floors. There is a beautiful terrace on the 4th floor which is a great place for a bottle of wine after a day seeing the sites. The staff... More
