Relais La Cappella was the first stop after our daughters wedding further south in Tuscany and what a fantastic spot it was. We stayed in a well equipped large apartment in the hotel for 3 nights, but could easily have stayed for a month. Peaceful, beautiful surroundings and a fantastic host. If you plan on staying you must make a... More

Fantastic hospitality, Emiliano is an amazing chef and produces delicious food and wine. He looks after his guests very well! The property is very peaceful and nested within a beautiful Tuscan hill, with some of the most stunning views, hence the winding road to reach it, it's not as bad as other reviews have made out to be and after... After driving 8 hours, we were looking forward to our 5 star hotel, some fast food and some cokes. Instead we were met with an old former convent and a glass of wine, ham and home baked bread. The owner had properly not heard about fast food. During the week we had to eat his home made food and drink... More

We stayed here on our first few nights of our honeymoon as we wanted peace, a view and a pool. It is a long and winding road up to the hotel and costed about €20. We arrived later than planned from Pisa so arrived hungry and the lovely host offered us dinner even though we only booked our second night.... More

My friend and I spent four nights in this charming, elegant, rustic villa in the heart of Tuscany. It was everything we hoped for - beautiful, peaceful and our host could not do enough for us. The road up to the villa is challenging, but after a few times it became tolerable. The farm to table style food was simple... More

To say that Emiliano is a wonderful host is an understatement. Myself and my husband arrived at Relais La Cappella on the evening of 4th July, exhausted and low on morale having raced up the coast from Elba on-route to the Milan British Embassy having had out entire car boot full of clothes, valuables, passports and money stolen a day... Another triumph for Trip Advisor as we selected Relais La Cappella for our stay near Lucca after reading excellent reports. We are delighted to confirm these after our own recent experience. Yes, the wonderfully restored old house sitting 200ms above Lucca is not easy to find but our satnav made no errors. The property was purchased by Emiliano some 3... More

Stunning views, lovely host, superb meal & wine - and the experience of a stay in a historical building. A tip would be to use the GPS for location- the road is narrow so take care and travel slowly - but it is so worth it!
