The rooms themselves, though clean, are not special, and a bit dated. However, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and this is in a good location in town. So, although the rooms rate a 3, the rest rates a 5....so I gave it a 4

We stayed in the annex which had an elevator. The rooms were small but quiet & comfortable. The location is just off a main shopping street & across from a restaurant specializing in steak. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly & helpful.

This hotel was a lovely surprise. Great location right in the heart of medieval Lucca. The staff were very welcoming, and went out of their way to help us find our way around. The room was a good size and both comfortable and charming. I would definitely stay there again

We stayed here two nights as part of a tour group. The location was great in the old part of town, just a short walk to many nice shops and restaurants, and also a couple of nice cafes right next door. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with nice variety. Rooms were on the small... More

We've become very adept at using Trip Advisor and Booking.com to find the best places at the best prices wherever we go, and Hotel la Luna was a typical find - well located just off Via Fillungo near the Anfiteatro, newly and nicely appointed, clean, quiet, and with very personal and heldpful service that took care of things for us,... We were booked in another hotel but they could not accommodate us for the last night of our stay so they recommended and also booked La Luna for us. We were made very welcome by the staff especially Paolo. He was so helpful and very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. The photos don't do the hotel justice. It was really... More

We stayed at Hotel La Luna by default as our Villa had closed for renovations without advising our agent. La Luna staff are friendly and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Definite yes!

During our recent family trip to Lucca we stayed at Hotel La Luna with our one and two year old children. The conscientious staff helped us with everything from our luggage, to directions, and getting us a high chair each morning for breakfast. They quickly learned our names and would play games with the kids. Our spacious room had a... More

Room was clean, good selection for breakfast and staff were very helpful and chatty. Great location right in the middle of the walled part of Lucca. Bar open as late as you wanted. Will definitely use this the next time as well.

“In the town of Luca this hotel is moderately priced and is probably a 2 to 3 star hotel but for location it is so convenient. The front office people are very helpful and they set-up a continental breakfast each morning that is fresh and sufficient to warrant including breakfast in your tarrif. There are air-conditioners in the rooms. Ours had an en suite bathroom and toilet. I remember that the guest accommodation is upstairs but nothing too strenuous to negotiate. Luca is not an expensive place in comparison to Rome, Florence or Naples. The fare by taxi to the railway is about 7 Euros. Your stay here will put you in the heart of Luca and the restaurants and shops that you will encounter will gladden your heart and your pocket-book. Tip. July is a great time to visit Luca because there is a summer festival with great headline acts. I saw Stevie Wonder in the piazza and the following night the Back Street boys were on ( if that's your cup of music ) and the staging was fabulous as was the weather. Hotel La Luna is adequately comfortable. I suppose the lasting memory is that there is no carpet in the bedroom only terazzo tiles but hey you're in Italy.”
