This is one of the BEST hotels we've ever stayed in. Family owned and run, lovely comfortable rooms, beautiful interior decorating, superb breakfasts with espresso coffee, and so central. Really well placed for day trips from here AND they have parking which is so essential in Italy! There's a beautiful rooftop area as well for sitting in the sun enjoying... More

We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Melecchi and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the gates of the wall surrounding the old city. Free off street parking is provided as well as breakfast, cold cuts, cheeses, bread, rolls, sweet rolls, coffee, tea and juice. Our rooms (two couples) were spacious by... More

Stayed for one night. Location is OK, ca 10mins walk from city walls, reasonably quiet location. Rooms and hotel "old fashioned" but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was typical Italian buffet, not great for a cycling trip, but the same most everywhere. Family are very helpful and friendly.

We loved staying at this little jewel that is run so well by this lovely family. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the breakfast very good - with a few continental choices and not just the typical Italian sweets. No question was too much, they always took their time. This is customer service at its best.

My mother and I loved staying here. Location is great and our room was very nice, liked the wooden floorboards. The breakfast is good and they try to cater for you with a few types if continental offerings and fresh coffee. The really appealing thing about the hotel is hard working Giovanni and his family. Such welcoming people. Giovanni has... More

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Melecchi. The family who owns this small hotel is lovely and really made our stay in Lucca exceptional. They are so personable and every morning helped us plan our stay. This is no 5 star hotel but it is perfect in this little town and a short walk to everything. I hope to... More

A very reasonably priced and well run hotel. The family who own it are charming and professional and made us feel at home. Four of us stayed there for the Puccini festival on the recommendation of some Italian friends, and we were not disappointed. They were very helpful in printing out tickets for the operas, booking restaurants and organising taxis... More

Great location and great value, just blocks from the walled city for substantially less money. The breakfast for 5 euros was a deal too. The hotel is clean, the rooms are quiet, and the beds are comfortable. They offer free on-site parking, and free wifi. They are very hospitable, helpful and eager to please. They were happy to provided us... More

Lovely hotel & location to explore Lucca - a couple of minutes walk to the walls and only 10 minutes from the train station. The room was nice and the breakfast really good value.
