With a four seasons, you expect a lot - and this hotel delivers. Where to begin - beautiful location on a private, quiet park 10 minutes' walk to the Duomo. Historic, beautifully restored palazzo with unique and hard to believe rooms (we stayed in a parlor suite with hand painted wall paper and an amazing fresco on the domed 20...

Upon arrival we were greeted by name as we got married at the hotel 5 years prior. Booked a premier room and paid the upgrade to a junior suite. We had room 308 in the main building and it was beautiful. The staff went above and beyond to recognize our wedding anniversary. Room service was prompt and accurate. Concierge got...

As typical for Four Seasons properties, this was amazing. The salon and bar area were filled with beautiful fresh blooming purple orchids which complimented the decor of this historic building. We were always greeted kindly by hotel staff and often by name. The grounds were so relaxing to stroll through. It was a bit cool and overcast during our visit...

The rooms are large and the bathroom is spacious, nicely decorated and the staff was over the top helpful and friendly. Navigating the city from the hotel was easy. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was outstanding. Everything about this trip was perfect.

The property is beautiful and well located. It is about 5 min ride or 15 min walk from the main historical area. I like it because it feels away from all the crowded touristy places. It is by far the best hotel in Florence. The service and attention to detail goes beyond expectation. Thanks to the care of Sofia Lolago,...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
