A truly outstanding hotel. We stayed for our 30th anniversary and from the very first to the very last moment we had a wonderful time. The hotel itself with its fantastic room and lovely garden oasis was fantastic and every member of staff was helpful, friendly and full of smiles which made our stay extra special. Our room ( junior suite with garden view ) was fabulous with a view of the Duomo and bell tower and the house keeping was perfect. If you want a brilliant hotel in a great location with friendly helpful staff you need to stay here

We returned to Florence and chose to stay at Palazzo Castri 1874 once again, because we had enjoyed it so much the first time. Truly an oasis in the bustling city, the tranquility begins when the glass door slides open and the light and scent of the hotel welcomes you. The staff is just wonderful, so welcoming and kind. The hotel itself is beautiful. light and airy with a feel that is timeless-kind of like Florence itself, old and new in one. Our high-ceilinged room (simple, calm and comfortable) looked out over the garden, where complimentary tea is served in the afternoon, with a glimpse of the duomo from the window. Breakfast buffet was excellent, and when we ordered room service food after a long day travelling to the Cinque Terre it was delicious. And of course the spa and pool were perfect, great to unwind after exploring the city. Palazzo Castri is tucked away but it's easy to walk to anything from here, il duomo, the river, the train station, the city center, and we really liked that sense of "coming home." We hope to come home to Palazzo Castri again soon.

This hotel and its staff were incredible. The location is great, the hotel is so clean and modern, and the grounds are amazing. Didn't get the change to use the spa or pool, but would love to in the future. We had a superior room and it was huge and so spacious. The breakfast was also very well stocked and both the indoor and outdoor seating are such great options depending on the weather. Hotel was also centrally located and very easy to walk to various parts of Florence. Would definitely stay here again on another trip to Florence.

There are many good things about this hotel, but the staff make it fantastic. From the front desk, to the breakfast servers, and at the spa, everyone was very friendly and eager to be of assistance. Our favorite staff member was of course Fulli the cat, who wanders the hotel making sure everything is in order. We came before check-in time and were allowed to leave our bags in their luggage room while we grabbed lunch. The hotel has a modern chill vibe. Our room we had was large with high ceilings and comfortable beds. It is important for me to have a large bathroom, and this place did not disappoint. The toilet was also separate from the shower area. We loved spending time in the pool, which was attached to the spa. They have saunas, hot/cold showers and hydrotherapy. It's a cozy space, so make sure to book a time. It does get busy. Breakfast buffet was set in a beautiful dining space with a view of the garden. The food delicious, and plentiful (bacon, sausages, eggs, pancakes, variety of breads and spreads, coffee and juices). The garden is thoughtfully designed, and very relaxing. I would rate the location 10/10 . It's very close to Mercato Central and Duomo. Lots of great places to eat. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Thank you for a fabulous stay. The place is very well located at 3 minutes from the central market and 9 min from the Duomo! The hotel is beautiful, trendy and with an incredible indoor garden terrace for a city centre. The staff is attentive, caring and professional. The breakfast is perfect... In short, we had a great stay and we will definitely be back!

We stayed at this hotel in 2015 and loved it, so booked again, only this time it was even better and we also booked in with spa privileges - a bonus. From start to finish, the hotel was excellent. Front desk staff are totally professional and very friendly. Kudos especially to Stephanie who helped us choosing restaurants and booking spa times and also to Chiara and Raniero for their competence and kindness. We loved the rooms, which were immaculate and well-designed. Great beds, great bathroom, good closet place. And we loved the garden area with its fountain and elegant landscaping. We enjoyed being able to have drinks in this peaceful, relaxing environment. The bar and spa staff were also first-class. We used the spa every day, mostly the pool with its warm water and gentle jet-beds. But there are other facilities within the complex - steam room, sauna, massage rooms and so on. The hotel is located opposite Independence Square with its trees and white roses and it is only a short walk into the bustling market and on into the centre of town. You can pay a lot more or a lot less in the town centre but you really don't need a view of the duomo. You are going to see it from all angles over and over again. We arrived in Florence from Rome by train and decided to walk to the hotel which is only nine minutes away. It was not an arduous trek but the streets are crowded and the sidewalk narrow, so if you have big suitcases I recommend a short taxi right. We had small carry-on bags, so we walked, but we decided to take a taxi back to the station when we were returning to Rome. The hotel's breakfast room is very pleasant and range of food first-class and there are garden view. We found the lobby quiet and comfortable, the perfect meeting spot. We have stayed at five other hotels in Florence over the years, all very good, but we like the Castri best for the excellence it achieves on every level.

Having stayed for 3 nights this week with my Sister, I can honestly say what a beautiful, comfortable hotel this was, with helpful, friendly staff that were so welcoming. The spa was an added luxury after spending the morning walking around stunning Florence and the breakfast was fantastic. The upgrade to the superior room has the most stunning view of the Duomo. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was a wonderful quiet place in the middle of crazy. Excellent amenities, shower, room etc. You can walk to the train station the only problem is the area the hotel is in. Rather have been in a different area but once inside the hotel is was amazing quiet. Great staff, Beautiful grounds for a hotel in a city!

We went to Florence for a destination wedding; we spent 2 nights in Rome before leaving for Florence; although we enjoyed visiting all those spectacular historical monuments but our hotel was below the average and did not meet our expectations. However, in Florence, as soon as we entered the Palazzo Castri 1874, we noticed the difference; a small hotel but very clean and looked modern. The room’s shower and bathroom, flooring, bed, and door’s lock also all modem, digital, clean, and functional. The included breakfast was great; all staff friendly, smiling, and helpful. Alesso welcomed us with his charming smile; very helpful about the spots and addresses we’re looking for and he was also there at our departure calling a taxi. Very good experience; highly recommended and definitely would go back there again if we visited Florence in the future.

Couldn’t fault this hotel - we had a beautiful room overlooking Florence, within easy walking distance of all the sights and a terrific breakfast. However the fabulous garden is what makes this place very special - after a tiring day sightseeing there in no better place to sit and have something to eat or drink - so quiet and relaxing. Add to all this the friendly and professional staff and reasonable costs and you have the full package !
