Great place- stylish, large rooms with comfortable beds, good amenities, and great location- It is close to all tourist attractions but on a quiet street that is not overrun like much of the rest of the city center. It isn’t a service hotel- so it that matters look elsewhere. The best way to think of it is that if you were an affluent, young, hip person maintaining a studio apartment in Florence, this is where you would buy and how you would furnish and decorate. Throw in daily cleaning, crisp sheets and bath amenities and the value proposition is clear.
Very charming hotel, with lovely ambiance a few minutes walk to the main attractions of Florence. The receptionist, Floriana was very helpful, outgoing and welcoming; I’ve been to many hotels in my more than 4 decades of globe trotting and Floriana stands out among those I’ve come into contact with. Breakfast was very complete with fresh pastries, fruits, cereals, meats, cheese, etc., and of course Italian expressos and cappuccinos. My wife and daughter were as impressed as I was with the quality of the room and service.
The location is great, just a few minutes walk from everything you need to see in Florence. The rooms are amazing. We were allowed to choose between 2 of them and both of them were very large. We chose room 12 which has a double person rainshower. The rooms have couches, extra chairs, plenty of storage and still a ton of room. Florina, the host was amazing, she saved us basically every day. One day we left a backpack in a taxi, and some how she was able to have it in our room by the time we returned from a wine tour. She then helped us book a car for our airport trip as the taxi cabs were on strike. We would have struggled to make our early flight on time as the metro train doesn't start running until 5am.... She is amazing and went well above and beyond.
We had a fantastic stay at the Soprano Suites and felt this was the perfect base for our days in Florence. The hotel is peaceful and intimate and rooms spacious, clean and full of character. Whilst this is not a hotel, so don’t expect room service, 24/7 reception etc, there was always someone available to help and provide us with recommendations, advice, and to book taxis. We especially liked the honesty bar and the complimentary coffee in the upstairs kitchen, available all day and night. It felt really comfortable and homely, but still chic. The location was perfect, in what was our favourite neighbourhood in Florence: less tourists and more locals and lots of great restaurants and bars round the corner (4 Leoni is great), whilst still being a 5 minute walk over the Arno to all the action. We stayed in the ‘toy room’ on the First Floor which had a private entranceway, huge bed, lovely view to the courtyard and a large bathroom with a good strong shower. I’d highly recommend requesting this room. My only comment to the hotel, and it is a small thing, is that there were no drawers for clothes storage. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back!…
This hotel far surpassed my expectations. We arrived after the staff left at 4 and they sent us a detailed message as to how to get our key. Everything was seamless. The room was ADORABLE and spacious for a European hotel. Breakfast was a gem and the cappuccinos were fantastic. Everything was baked fresh. It is a small hotel and everything was so cozy. It is located a few blocks from the bridge and the area is way less crowded but filled with incrediblerestaurants. We loved it. GustaPizza is a block down the street and has the best pizza. Gusta Bar is across the street from the pizza place and you MUST go for aperitivo. Excellent drinks for 5 or 6 euro and an incredible owner. We would come back in a heartbeat.
The hotel is located in the heart of Florence and is a perfect place to exit from to tour the city. Floriana welcomed us is the nicest way possible. She is truly a sweetheart and made our stay even more spectacular than it already was. Our room was huge and well decorated. You can feel the local atmosphere from the windows view. The room was very clean and created a luxurious stay. The breakfast was very tasty and there were different types of pastries offered. I honestly think that the price is low compare to the royal experience you walk out with. We loved everything about this pace! We will defiantly be back!
Our stay at Soprarno Suites was really lovely. Floriana gave us excellent recommendations that were spot on for eating and shopping, and helped us make reservations for dinner. Our room was enormous with tall ceilings and so many quirky details, and we especially loved the soaking tub after a long day of walking around Boboli Gardens, which are a stone's throw away, and climbing to the top of Giotto's Campanile. The Oltrarno neighborhood is very wonderful, full of charming shops and restaurants and a bit quieter than central Florence north of the river which is much busier, but still only a 10 minute walk to anything.
I'd like to highlight firstly the location met all our needs ~ Santo Spirito neighborhood is A GEM ~ very special ! We felt so cozy & quaint in our room ~ staffing were truly warm & professional . The venture to coffee in the downstairs that seemed more like lovely quiet cafe . I hope to experience more of these innate taste makers properties as well . GRAZIE MILLE xoxo, carol & alessandro
We had a good stay here - a big room with a good bed, good service, nice location close to everything but just off the tourist track on a street full of antique shops one bridge down from the Ponte Vecchio on the Oltrarno side. BUT it is just not the caliber of other Mr. and Mrs. Smith properties. It is one thing to be mid-century funky, and sort of quirky….another thing to be a lot of mismatched flea market/garage sale-like furniture. A little ragged. So it was fine - but just not of the level of hotel we expect to be part of that group. Our expectations were higher because of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith affiliation - and it didn’t meet those - but ended up being a perfectly ok place to stay.
DON'T BOOK. Complete scam. Told me I could cancel with no charge, once canceled through Expedia I was charged and they've never responded after many attempts to contact them. If you want someone to steal your money, try this place.
