My partner and I stayed two nights in this cosy and romantic hotel. Great setting if your looking for a traditional Italian style room. One of the drawbacks was it had a very small lift (lift is only needed to move suitcases otherwise small enough building to walk) Perfect location situated north of Florence. The train station is 5 minutes... More

Very small elevator. But at least it has one! Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. But leaves at 9:00pm. In room phones. Will get you ice! In room safe. Well located. Old. But okay. Weird layout of rooms. Lots of mosquitoes. A bit noisy. Turn on your bathroom fan all night to block out the noise.

We stayed at this hotel last year and were happy to return as Giovanni and Nadine are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. As other reviews have said, all the sights of Firenze are within easy reach. The only disappointment is the breakfast, proper crockery would make a big improvement.

Hotel Collodi was a perfect fit for our 4 night stay in Florence in September 2015. The hotel is on a small very quiet street just steps from the San Lorenzo market and church, and the Central Market. It is also a very short walk to the SMN train station, Accedemia, Duomo, and all sights in Florence. For reference, the... More

I stayed here last week with my boyfriend after finding the hotel on a search and seeing the high rating on Trip Advisor. I am glad we booked as the hotel is very near the main train station, a street away from the Central Market and only about 10 minutes from the Duomo. There are some nice places to eat... More

We stayed in this comfortable, clean hotel. Warm reception from a german lady who had been living in Italy for years. The room was clean as were the bathroom facilties. Comfortable single beds. This is an old house which has been converted into an hotel so in some of the rooms which have very high ceilings they have put a... More

This hotel provides everything you need for a visit to this amazing city. Location being its main attraction. However once through the unprepossessing entrance the hotel provides every facility for an enjoyable visit, cleanliness, friendliness and quietness for a good rest overnight.

Hotel Collodi is small boutique accommodation in central Florence as short walk to all the major sites.the hotel rooms are well appointed and a good size for a couple. The bed we had was good to sleep on. The only drawback of living close to the markets is the early morning noise as the carts are wheeled up the street... More

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and had the Italian feel (rather than being a 'clinical' hotel that could be anywhere). It was right on the doorstep of the centre of everything. The train station is a 10 minute walk away and about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport - all taxis charge 20 euros + 1 euro... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
