Spacious room and bathroom. There was a heater in the bathroom which was good especially when you just stepped out of the shower. The room was quite beautiful with ceiling frescoes and wooden furniture providing an old world Italian feel. The B&B is located within 5 mins' walk from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella station but we thought it was... More

What a gem we enjoyed during our recent stay in Florence. We wanted a place close to the train station since this was our mode of travel. We were welcomed with open arms into the lovely and clean B&B. There are small and large rooms. We opted for the small which suited us just fine since we only slept there.... More

We loved this beautiful B&B. The outside of the building is plain and hidden away south of the train station. It was safe to walk there at the various hours we went. It is located on the second floor of the building, and there is a lift. The rooms were lovely!! The breakfast was good. The only complaint was that... More

We were only there one night. The room was small. But,that's to be expected in an older central city. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. As this is a fairly busy street, one could expect noise from traffic. However, the windows sealed quite well and blocked the street sounds completely. It is an older property that is very nice and... We were delayed coming to florence on our trip. I would have to say this is one of the best places I stayed while in Italy. These 2 brothers were the kindest people. the place is spotless and they are the most helpful. if you are looking for a place to stay, right in the middle of it, this is... More

This is one of the most beautifully kept and welcoming B&Bs I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We were welcomed by one of the two delightful owners early evening who, albeit with limited English, gave us a very comprehensive and understandable overview of what to do and see in the city, including recommending the absolute must do... I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend. I can honestly say that I have never had such a lovely, sweet and friendly staff like this one! The hotel was really cozy and together with the staff it felt so relaxing and nice to come back to our hotel room after a long day in Firenze. The amazing personal... More

The B&B is situated in what seems to be an apartment block so it can be difficult to find if you are unsure what you are looking for. Our room was small (the bed took up most of it) however the bathroom was fantastic- very fancy and seemed more suited to a posh hotel than a simple B&B!! We were... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
