Hotel Axial was an absolutely excellent choice for us. Simple rooms, an outstanding (yummy, yummy, yummy -- best we had at any of our hotels in Italy!) breakfast, cute place, extremely nice desk personnel, and perfectly situated to visit everything in Florence. It's on a street that we called "Fancy Street," with Gucci, Armani, a bunch of stores where we... More

The hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing. The staff and hotel are lovely. The rooms are simple but comfortable, the staff is friendly and more than accommodating. Breakfast is typical European style and quite nice. I will return.

The hotel is on a very busy street, but the room was very quiet. If you're coming from the airport just take the shuttle to the train station and the hotel is a short walk away. It's located near all the main attractions which is a big plus. The shower was small, but no big deal. Excellent service! Everyone was... More

This hotel is in the perfect location close to the Duomo. The staff was friendly and helpful. They served a lovely breakfast each morning with lots of variety. They arranged for a taxi for us and helped us with dinner suggestions etc. I would definitely stay here again.

This wonderful family-run, small hotel in the center of Florence (one block from the Duomo) is the perfect place to stay. On the main pedestrian street, you enter through a wooden door to the right of the Disney Store, go down a hallway to the small elevator to reach the first floor (our second floor). The staff at reception, particularly... More

This hidden gem sits on the main street, within walking distance of the Duomo, museums and other attractions. Rooms are adequate size with closets. Small bathroom with great shower. Very clean, staff speak English and are very helpful with directions. We needed a cab at 4 am for the airport and they arranged it perfectly. Breakfast included, so a quick... More

Location is perfect! It was easy to find and around all the main streets. When checking in- the person sitting at the front desk was kind of rude and unhelpful. We had requested a quiet room when we reserved but he said he only had the one next to the breakfast area. Until we nagged a little then he took... More

Good hotel with large rooms and friendly staff who speak good english. The hotel is situated right in the high street of Firenze with the Duomo only one minute walking distance. The only problem was that the beds were hard, but that's up to what you prefer.

We stayed one night in this hotel - mother and daughter on a visit to Florence during our stay in Tuscany. This is a superb hotel to stay in when visiting in Florence! The location couldn't be better - less than 5 minutes walk to the Duoma!! Though it is very central we were not disturbed at all at night... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
