The website and some of the reviews for Le Tre Stanze are misleading. The rooms are in a 16th or 17th century building that has had very few updates. As used in some of the reviews, I believe 'bohemian' must be a euphemism for old, tired and worn. The pictures on the website 'look' good - but in reality, I...

The location is central and Patrick was very nice when we checked in. Other than that, I would NEVER recommend this place to travelers. There is a strange disconnect going on here. Gorgeous, artistic photos on the website don't give a true view of these run-down, uncomfortable, expensive rooms. Glowing reviews describing a "magical" experience sound fishy after spending a...

I booked us a room here based on an acquaintances' recommendation and TA reviews. The photographer taking the pic's on their website is very good and does much to enhance the appearance of the building. The apartment is 1/2 block from the duomo and is conveniently located to lots of places and an easy walk to all the sites. It...

This review is LONG overdue, as we stayed with Patrick in 2012. I'm helping a co-worker navigate his planning for an upcoming trip, and realized I never left the glowing review Le Tre Stanze deserves. It's hard to describe this place in any other term but "magical". The building is ridiculously gorgeous, both in terms of its charm and its...

It's just behind Duomo and a 15 minute walk from the main train station SMN. Patrick, the owner, is very helpful and friendly. The room covers all needs and decorated very nice. One negative point: Wi-Fi doesn't work properly in the room, but you can use in the saloon upstairs.

If you like to stay at cookie cutter style hotels than this is not the place for you. These fabulous rooms have so much character in an amazing central location, you can even hear the church bells ringing! It is within walking distance to all of Florence's main sites. Patrick is a welcoming host who suggested the newly renovated James...

Spent a couple of days in Florence this summer and stayed at the Le Tre Stanze. You simply cannot be more centrally located - right outside you have the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. We got one of the ground floor apartments with access to a little backyard garden, quiet and peaceful and still such a central location. Bohemian style...

We stayed here for a short break in December 2013 and had a wonderful time. The location was simply the best and we had the spacious ground floor room with use of the garden, the friends we traveled with had the fantastic rooftop room, with view of the Duomo. There was lots of information in our room, and also upstairs in the...

Host is welcoming and helpful. This accomodation provides the very offbeat experience. Just a few steps from the cathedral, appartment located in the old building. Furnished with antique things, it has spacious rooms and unusual atmosphere. Patrick, you made our holiday in Florence unique, thanks! Will definitely come back one day.

We would stay here again in a second - we wished we could have stayed a month! We had a lovely large room with a terrace that had a view of the Duomo. It was just perfect. We were in town for a wedding, and location-wise it was ideal to be so close to everything. Florence is a city you...

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
