This is serious barebones accommodations, though, gives one insight into the history of the monastery and travelers from hundreds of years ago. .The room and bathroom were clean, however, the mattress a bit lacking. We had a slight mosquito issue, which was quickly resolved. The common areas were nicely laid out and accessible. It is a short walk into the...

We stayed here for three nights and by the morning of the third we couldn't wait to leave. The location is decent, you can really walk anywhere in Florence and this is no exception even though it's further from the city center. The windows had been open when we arrived which I appreciated, but there were no screens and therefore...

The room was basic. The morning breakfast is nice and a good way to start the day. The place is closer to bus stops. Its also closer to the Pitti palace and Boboli gardens. Easier to get to the city central by walk from here.

This is an odd place to review. Once a monastery as many have said in there reviews, and still connected to a chapel/church externally. Sometimes it still feels (or rather, looks) like one. It does not feel like a hotel - possibly more like a large boarding house or a more formal version of a backpackers (i.e. with rooms). Don't...

Stayed here for a conference held at the same venue. As has been noted in other reviews, this is a unique place, reminiscent of an old school boarding house rather than a modern hotel. Walking down the long corridor, I kept looking over my shoulder, expecting a stern House Master telling me off for making too much noise. If you...

This hotel is an old monastery and as such offers a calm and serene atmosphere, perfect for visiting the higly historical city that is Florence. The convitto doens't offer 5 star hotel facilities, but you'll still find it quite comfortable for a short stay. It's very close to the city center and the main attractions, you won't even have to...

Convitto della Calza is perfectly situated for exploring Florence. There is an entrance to the Boboli Gardens at Porta Roma within a few paces....a walk through these wonderful gardens takes you right into the Pitti Palace. The walk to the Ponte Vecchio is about 5-10 mins and then you are in the heart of Florence. Good parking in a large public car...

I only stayed at this hotel for three nights while exploring Florence and found it great value for money, the rooms are quite spacious, as is the bathroom. There is also free Wi-Fi which worked really well and we were on the second floor. Breakfast was good, there seemed a good variety and selection. The blood orange juice was especially...

I was well impressed with this hotel. The location is fairly good, away from the busy town center but walking distance to everything. WiFi coverage one of the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast did not offer a lot of choice, would be so much better if there is a bigger...

Me and my friend got a deal with expedia which was this hotel with a flight included with Ryanair. The hotel was fantastic for what we paid. The breakfast buffet each morning was always filled with food (delicious orange juice, might I add). The cleaner comes in every morning to clean and tidy which was a nice touch. The people...

Staying in Pitti

Neighborhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
