A very lovely spacious family room, extremely friendly & helpful staff, a classic building. An ok distance from the main station (SMN) from the 'general centre' & very close to the river. It is well placed in a quiet area & has good facilities. Perfect for our short stay.

Stayed at this hotel for one day. I absolutely loved it. Located in an old building this place captures all the charm of Florence. Rooms are small, but it was OK for one night. Our windows faced the the little yard in the back. Breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast. Will stay here again.

My sister and I LOVED this place. It is quiet, in a nice neighbourhood and the rooms are very clean. We also loved that it was so easy to find! You just follow the canal. The streets in Florence invite you to get lost in them and find lovely nooks and crannies, but if you can find your way back... More

If you're expecting the ritz, you'll be disappointed. But for what you pay, you definitely get your money's worth. The main owner is a lovely guy. He went out of his way to accommodate my dietary requirements for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The hotel is run down, but clean. It's not great, but I've paid more money for... Stayed here on personal recommendation and have nothing but good things to say about the place. Great location (10 minutes from train station, 20 minutes walk to the historic centro), friendly staff can get you anything you need, great breakfast, clean spacious rooms, what's not to like!

The hotel has a very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast, when you take the cheap nightly rates of the hotel into consideration. Often, hotels like this have the most boring breakfasts that will leave you still being hungry. But the breakfast at Hotel Crocini consists of both scrambled eggs, sausage, boiled eggs, fruit, toast, yoghurts, cheese, ham, croissants, Italian... More

3 nights stay in this cosy hotel brilliantly located , a 10 min walk from the old city center of Florence. One of the best complimentary breakfast and courteous service to boot. Outstanding value for money. Will definitely be back!

Stayed 3 nights in two rooms with family of six. One of the rooms was actually two and had five beds -- if you are five people it would be very economical. This looked out onto the street and there was no noise. The other -- for two -- looked out onto the charming garden. Parking is on site and... More

Ok, I haven't stayed at all the 2 star hotels on Earth but this one rocks! I alternate staying at 5 star resorts and 2 star places with clean beds. In a city like Florence, I'm looking for a safe place to grab some sleep and get a reasonable breakfast before hitting the museums and libraries. Hotel Crocini exceeded these... More

The Hotel Crocini is a good value, comfortable budget hotel. We booked one of their superior rooms which was a reasonable size with comfortable beds and extra pillows. We had a shower over a half sized bath with good sized towels and a selection of toiletries, including mini toothbrushes and toothpaste, although the small bottles of shower gel/shampoo were replaced... Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
