Stayed here solo for a few nights in November 2010. Location: RIGHT near the train station almost facing the Piazza Sta. Maria Della Something or Other and walking distance to everything! Was not in a sketchy neighborhood, but one night I ventured a little North and ended up turning right around and heading back toward the Hotel. Room: Room was...

The two of us had a great stay, the rooms were modern, cool with a quirky personality of their own. Brilliant location, right near the markets, station and a short walk from all the sights. Marco and Anna were a great help, recommending some brilliant nights out, definitly the one place we'll stay when visiting florence in the future!!

I had originally booked a stay at what I thought was the Luna Rossa Hostel through hostelworld.com, it had great reviews. Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
