This July, a group of ten friends decended twice upon Soggiorno Anna Maria and Katti House, almost across the alley from each other.. Both times, we had excellent rooms, consistantly warm and friendly service, and found the restaurant they owned to be like home cooking and a family home experience. This hotel is perfectly located, close to the train and... More

I second the review by Bruce K. Katti House operates, so near we could tell, three hotels or b&b's out of a base adjacent to their restaurant. In our case, we were booked at Soggiorno Anna. Arriving there, we found no one...just a sign telling us to proceed down the avenue to KH. There we found only Anna's husband, who... More

Two friends and I had a reservation for Soggiorno Anna, which we thought would mean that we would stay at their facility on via Faenza. We had trouble finding someone to check us in - and had to go to three places to finally get checked in (luckily the waitress at the restaurant operated by the same family was able... More

The hotel is centrally located near a parking garage and the San Lorenzo market. We were able to walk all over Florence easily from there. The room was large, clean and comfortable. We had a room off the street so the noise from the street was audible during the night. The centrality to the San Lorenzo market was great as... More

I stayed with my bestfriend in the Soggiorno Anna Maria B and B. It was easy to find. We met Maria who was so sweet with us. She checked us in fast and was excited to show us the room. The room was huge with a nice view and a private bathroom. Everything was clean and just more than what... More

I stayed for one night at the Soggiorno Annamaria and it was very nice. It was a bit hard to find, but it was in a good location and the woman who owns it was very very nice and sweet. The hotel had beautiful tiling, the room we stayed in was clean and well-kept.

We chose this hotel based on Rick Steves' guidebook recommendation. However, the accommodations were almost scary. There is no one on staff, no lobby, just stairs to the floors above. Three locks protected us from the street and from the hallway. Once in, we felt trapped. rather than safe. The bathroom was small, but everything worked. Finding the hotel after... More

Katti's House also owns Soggiorno Anna Maria, which Rick Steve's said was the quieter of the two. Our room was very quiet, quite large, and everything you could want for 100 euro ($144). I do recommend the hotel. The only reason that I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was that communication was not very good. When I... More

Staying in Soggiorno Annamaria is like visiting family...lumpy bed, small noisy room on the street, pretty barebones, but I've been there twice because it's convenient for a solo woman traveler..close to the bus and train stations, great location for exploring all of Florence. I feel very safe and feel like I've really accomplished something when I've managed to communicate with... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
