We stayed at the Residenza Giotto for 3 nights and had a very nice experience. Barbara, Silvia and Georgio could not have been nicer or more accommodating. My brother's luggage was late and therefore he was late arriving to the hotel. They kept the reception area open until he arrived and then helped track his luggage for him. The location... More

This was such a great little stay for us!! Got to see what is behind those big doors you always see:) Seriously, is on 4th floor, has a great little lift to get you there. Georgio greeted us and could not have been nicer!! Was sooo hot in Florence in June - A/C in our room was great! We had... More

Found the hotel through Hotel.com. Then went to their official website and booked the room. Very easy communication. We booked a room with a view for November 2013 and wow did they deliver. The rooms are simple and very clean. Continental breakfast included. Front desk staff person very personable. Talk about location - you can't get any better than in... More

We stayed here for one night on a quick trip from Rome. Looking at the hotel online & reading the reviews, it just seemed like a special place. And it proved to be just that - so special. Francesca was there to greet us & was wonderful. She showed us around & offered assistance with anything we needed. She was... More

I went with my fiance on a trip to Italy and we stayed in the Residenza Giotto for 2 nights. We are 27 years old and very active travelers. The staff is so nice and answered every question we had and even told us the good places to go. We had to leave early one day to catch a train... More

The location of this bed and breakfast is unbelievable. Literally two steps to the Duomo and only a block or two from the art gallery hosting the statue David. The breakfast is served every morning in a room with a balcony with towering views of the Baptistery, Giotto's bell tower, and the Duomo itself. Friendly staff and well apportioned rooms... More

Excellent location, very central, fantastic views, very attentive staff. Room comfortable and clean, good air conditioning. Breakfast very pleasant, teas/coffees made to order, all food very fresh. Staff helpful in making suggestions for visits. This is my second visit and I will always use Residenza Giotto for future trips.

This accommodation is 2 doors away from the Duomo and Baptistery, in the middle of a very upscale street with high-end stores. It’s up 4 floors with an old elevator which is great since you don’t have to cart your luggage up all those stairs. The hotel itself is a few rooms on one floor of the building which are... More

Silvia and Giorgio were perfect hosts. They made helpful recommendations, answered all of our questions, made us delicious cappuccinos and overall made us feel totally comfortable and at home. The location could not have been more convenient. We could easily walk to all of the main sites and the train station. I would definitely stay here again! Sarah

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
